Désiré Léger SAINT-ANTOINE, NB - Désiré Léger, age 84, husband of the late Rita Bastarache and Eva Lavoie of Saint Antoine, NB, passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2006 at the Dr. George L. Dumont hospital following a brief illness. Born in Adamsville, NB on June 4, 1922, he was the son of the late Alfred Léger and the late Régina Allain. He was employed by CN for several years and attended the Saint-Antoine L'Ermite Roman Catholic Church, Saint-Antoine. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #43, Bouctouche, NB. He served in WWII and served overseas from 1941-1945 with the Regiment La Chaudière. He is survived by four daughters, Simone Léger of Dieppe, Sylvia Melanson (Roger), Linda Léger (Roger), both of Moncton, Donna Boucher (Ulysse Gallant) of Dieppe; two sons, René (Catherine) of Sudbury, ON, Jean of Moncton; two sons-in-law, Valmon Léger, Zöel Boucher; and one daughter-in-law, Lisa Léger; three sisters, Noella Léger of Atteleboro, Mass, Bertha Develin of St. Stephen, Marie Lambert of Fitshburg, Mass.; two brothers, Zénon (Wilma) of Shediac Bridge, NB, and Elie of California. He was predeceased by three brothers, Gerald, Victor, and Roger. Several nieces and nephews and eleven grand-children and eight great grand-children. Resting at Saint-Antoine L'Ermite Roman Catholic Church Slumber Room, Saint-Antoine, NB, with visiting hours Monday, September 25, 2006 from 2 to 3:45pm. Funeral Service will be held from Saint-Antoine L'Ermite Roman Catholic Church, Saint-Antoine on Monday, September 25, 2006 at 4:00pm. Interment in the Parish Cemetery. Arrangements in care of Maillet Funeral Home, Bouctouche, NB.
