1902 - 2005
Alfred "Fred" Arseneau, 102, of Moncton, passed away at The Moncton Hospital, Moncton on Friday, January 21, 2005. Born January 27, 1902 in Campbellton, he was the son of the late Alexandre Arseneau and the late Katherine Blake. He was a retired train conductor and brakeman with Canadian National Railways with 30 years service. He was also a third degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus, council # 7940, a member of CN Pensioners Association, and the Toast Masters Club. He is survived by his two daughters, Katherine Steeves of Moncton, Muriel Longlade (John) of Montreal; eight grandchildren, David, Peter, Tracey, Jason, Scott, Bob, Wendy, Chris; four great grandchildren, Devin, Collin, Brianna, Michael; a sister, Stasia Sharpe of Campbellton; two nieces, Donna, Cheryl and by a special friend, Vena Alderson. He was predeceased by his wife, Blanche (Leger); a step-son, Paul Cormier; a brother, Delphis and by a sister, Beatrice Comeau. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January, 26, 2005 at St-Bernard's Roman Catholic Church, Moncton. Interment will be in St-Thomas Aquinas Cemetery, Campbellton. Funeral arrangements under the direction of Frenette Funeral Home, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900).
