LEGERE, Carmen Donald (Pookie) - 60, of 68 Junction Road, Springhill, passed away Friday, October 9, 1998 in All Saints Hospital, Springhill. Born in Springhill, he was a son of the late Mary Edna (Legere) Totten and stepspon of the late William Henry Totten. He worked as a counsellor with the Cumberland Community Homes in Oxford and was a past member of the Loyal Orange Lodge, #1611, Springhill. He was a former umpire for both minor and senior baseball games, he enjoyed all types of sports, playing cards, crib, backgammon and especially being with his many friends. He is survived only by two uncles, Lloyd and Edward; one aunt, Mrs. Hazel Embree, all of Springhill; a stepniece and several cousins. He was predeceased by a stepbrother, William Totten Jr. Cremation has taken place under the direction of the A.H. Brown Funeral Home,
Springhill. A memorial funeral mass will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 13, 1998 in the St. John's Roman Catholic Church, with the Rev. Father Patrick Cosgrove officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Springhill. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
