C. Leger Richibucto Village (Special) -
The death of Claudius Leger of Richibucto Village occurred Saturday at the Villa Maria home in St. Louis de Kent. He was 81. Born in Richibucto Village, he was a son of Dosithe and Carolyn (Richard) Leger. He had been employed with the Canada Post Office before retirement and was a veteran of the First World War, serving overseas. He is survived by his wife, the former Rose Boucher; two daughters, Mrs. Alban Babineau (Geneva) of Richibucto Village and Mrs. Emile Richard (Leonore) of Minto; eight sons, Armand of Sudbury, Ont., Leo-Paul of Petit Rocher, Exube, Joseph, Henry, Ola, Aurele and Gerald Leger, all of Richibucto Village; a sister, Mrs. Fred Babineau of St. Louis de Kent; a brother, Joseph Leger of Richibucto Village; 36 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren. The body is resting at the slumber room, Richibucto Village Roman Catholic Church, where mass will be celebrated at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday with entombment in the parish cemetery vault to await burial in the spring.
