Albert Emile LeBlanc
1942 - 2003

PETIT-CAP, NB - Albert Emile LeBlanc, 60, of Petit-Cap passed away after a lengthy illness surrounded by his family on Thursday, January 9, 2003 at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton. Born in Shemogue, September 14, 1942, he was the son of the late Emile and Sara (Léger) LeBlanc. He was known throughout the greater CapPelé area as a respected businessman in the Fish Processing Industry for over 25 years. Charlie LeBlanc, his grandfather, was the first person in the southeastern part of New Brunswick to open a smoked herring industry. With the knowledge and valuable experience acquired from his father, Emile LeBlanc began operations. Albert then became co-owner of Emile C. LeBlanc & Sons Ltd with his father and his two brothers in 1974. In 1981, he also became co-owner, with his two brothers, of other businesses such as Sea Tide Import and Export (1981); White Trucking (1978); Eastern Fisheries (1979); and Emile Trading. In 1997, Albert helped develop Michel & Charles LeBlanc Fisheries Ltd which is now the family's fourth generation in the smoked herring industry. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his loving family, wife Antoinette (Mazerolle) LeBlanc; daughter, Rachael at home; sons, Michel (Mélanie Mallet) of Cap-Pelé and Charles at home; sisters, Cecile Vienneau (Emery) of Cormier Village, Rita Landry (Roger) of Cap-Pelé, Aline Cormier (Yvon) of Shediac; brothers, Emery (Dorina), Yvon (Odette) and Léo (Léona) all of Petit Cap, Francis (Muriel) of Shediac, Joey (Aurella) of Cap -Pelé; grandchildren, Nicolas, JeanFrancois, Britanny, Jeremie; stepmother, Marie-Louise (Bourque) LeBlanc of Shediac; step-grandmother , Eleonor Goodwin of Chatham; god father of Jamie LeBlanc; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Also, Gabriel Richard, Diane Gallant and Danny & Denise Goguen. Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by an infant brother, Léo. Resting at Funérarium Frenette, Cap-Pelé (577-3297) with visitation both on Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 4p.m and 7 to 9p.m. and on Monday from 9:30a.m. until time of departure at 10:50a.m. The funeral Mass will be held at Ste-Thérèse d'Avila Roman.Catholic Church in Cap-Pelé on Monday, January 13, 2003 at 11a.m. Interment in St-Timothée Roman.Catholic.
