The death of Philip Leger of 50 Lawson St., Riverview, and formerly of Shediac, occurred Friday at the Moncton Hospital, after a lengthy illness. he was 79. Born at Upper Aboujagane, he was a son of the late Philip and Emilienne (LeBlanc) Leger. He had been employed for 30 years, retiring in 1955, as a carman with Canadian National Railways. He was a veteran of both world wars, and was a past member of the CNR War Vets Club. His wife, the former Anna Petitpas, died in 1972. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Wilmot Milton (Simone) of Riverview and Mrs. George Archibald (Laurette) of Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.; one son, Ronald leger of Whitby, Ont.; two sisters, Mrs. Edmee Conroy of Moncton and Mrs. Val Landry (Jeannette) of Shediac; 15 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren. The body is resting at Frenette's Funeral Home, Shediac. Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. today from the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Shediac, with interment in the parish cemetery.
