    Albina Léger (1920-2008)
    Dieppe - À l'Hôpital regional L’Dr-Georges-L.-Dumont, le samedi 16 février 2008, à l’âge de 87 ans, est décédée, entourée de sa famille, Albina Leger, domiciliée à Dieppe. Née à Scoudouc, N.-B., elle était fille de feu Alyre et de feu Agnes (née Babin) Melanson. Elle laisse dans le deuil deux filles: Charline (David) Surette de Burlington, Ont. et Suzanne Boudreau (Royden) de Moncton; trois fils: Alonzo (Alicia) de Riverview, Michel de Notre-Dame et Gilles de Dieppe; une belle-fille, Viola Bell; un frère, Antoine Melanson de Moncton; huit petits-enfants: Joline, Mireille, Julie, Daniel, Marc,Angela, Scott et Lisa; quatre arrière-petits-enfants: Maya, Alexandre. Breanna et Nathan, ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces.
    Outre ses parents, sa belle-mère, Melina; son époux, Gerard (1999); une soeur, Lorette, ainsi que trois frères: Alphonse, Edgar et Clément, l’ont précédée dans la tombe.
    Sa famille était sa joie de vivre. Albina et Gerard ont profité de leur chalet à Notre-Dame pour avoir du bon temps et pour apprécier sa passion pour la nature. Elle était membre des clubs de l’âge d’or de Dieppe et de la paroisse Sainte-Thérèse.
    Les visites auront lieu à la Maison funéraire Chartersville 363, rue Amirault, à Dieppe (857-1901, www.chartersville.com), le lundi 18 février, de 14h à 16h et de 19h à 21h et le mardi 19 fvévrier, de 10h jusqu’à l’heure des funérailles. Les funérailles auront lieu en l’église Sainte-Thérèse, le mardi 19 février, à 11h. L’inhumation se fera au cimetière Notre-Dame-du-Calvaire de Dieppe.
    Un don à la Fondation Hôpital Dr-Georges-L.-Dumont serait apprécié par la famille.

    Albina Leger, 87, of Dieppe, NB, with her loving family by her side, passed away on Saturday, February 16th, 2008, at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital. Born in Scoudouc, NB, she was the daughter of the late Alyre and the late Agnes (née: Babin) Melanson. The joy of her life was her family, Albina and Gerard spent their retirement years at the summer cottage in Notre-Dame, where she would enjoy nature. She was a member of the Club d'Age d'Or de Dieppe and a parishoner of Ste-Thérèse Roman Catholic Church. She is survived by two daughters, Charline (David) Surette of Burlington, ON, and Suzanne Boudreau (Royden) of Moncton; three sons, Alonzo (Alicia) of Riverview, Michel of Notre-Dame and Gilles of Dieppe; one daughter in law, Viola Bell; one brother, Antoine Melanson of Moncton; eight grandchildren, Joline, Mireille, Julie, Daniel, Marc, Angela, Scott, and Lisa; four great grandchildren, Maya, Alexandre, Breanna, and Nathan; as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her step-mother, Melina; her husband, Gerard in 1999; one sister, Lorette; and also by three brothers, Alphonse, Edgar, and Clement. Visitation will be held from Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, 857-1901, on Tuesday from 10 am until the time of the service.     Alphonse Y. Melanson

    On June 30, 1996, Alphonse Y. Melanson, of Braemar Drive, Moncton passed away.

    He was born in Scoudouc, N.B., on July 1, 1913, the son of the late Alyre Melanson and the late Agnès Babin. A.Y. Melanson had graduated from St. Joseph's University (Memramcook) in Business Administration and completed his education at the University of Western Ontario (London). He established his career at the Provincial Bank (now National Bank of Canada), being Manager at branches in Moncton and Windsor (Ontario) before being promoted to the position of Superintendent of the Bank for the Maritime Provinces. Upon his retirement, he worked with the Investment firm Lévesque-Beaubien-Geoffrion Inc. He was active member in many societies; to name a few, he was treasurer of the Acadian Historical Society, treasurer of Association France-Canada, member of the Richelieu Club (Windsor, Ont.), of the Royal Canadian Legion (Windsor, Ontario). During the Second World War, he served in Canada, Britain and continental Europe.

    He is survived by his wife, Jeannette (née Richard); his eight children, Charles of Moncton, Richard (Valérie Siegel) of Vancouver, B.C., Diane (Claude Drapeau) of Ottawa, Ont., Jeanine (Léon Thériault) of Moncton, Paulette (Michel Allain) of Ottawa, Ont., François (Estelle LeBlanc) of St-Joseph-du-Lac, P.Q., Lorette (Yvon Chiasson) of Fredericton, Marc (Andréa Bourque) of Moncton; by three brothers and one sister, Clément (Pauline Cassidy) of Dieppe, Albina (Gérard Léger) of Shédiac, Edgar (Sara LeBlanc) and Antoine (Thérèse Lavoie), both of Moncton. He was predeceased by his sister, Lorette (Clovis Belliveau). Also surviving him are his twenty grandchildren, Dorian, Aimée, Delphine, Jolaine, Lysanne, Myriam, Gaelle, Mireille, Elise, Jean-Michel, Dominic, Véronique, Matthew, Pierre-André, Catherine, Benoît, Emilie, Sophie, Katia, Simon and many nephews and nieces, as well as many cousins.

    Resting at Frenette Funeral Home, 88 Church Street, Moncton. Visitation hours: Monday from 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 6 Moncton will hold a Military Service at the Funeral Home on Tuesday at 7 p.m. Funeral mass will be held at the Church of Notre-Dame d'Acadie (University of Moncton Parish) on Wednesday, July 3, 1996 at 11 a.m. Interment in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery in Dieppe.

    Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

Elle laisse dans le deuil deux filles: Charline (David) Surette de Burlington, Ont. et Suzanne Boudreau (Royden) de Moncton; trois fils: Alonzo (Alicia) de Riverview, Michel de Notre-Dame et Gilles de Dieppe; une belle-fille, Viola Bell; un frère, Antoine Melanson de Moncton; huit petits-enfants: Joline, Mireille, Julie, Daniel, Marc,Angela, Scott et Lisa; quatre arrière-petits-enfants: Maya, Alexandre. Breanna et Nathan, ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces.
    Outre ses parents, sa belle-mère, Melina; son époux, Gerard (1999); une soeur, Lorette, ainsi que trois frères: Alphonse, Edgar et Clément, l’ont précédée dans la tombe.
    Sa famille était sa joie de vivre. Albina et Gerard ont profité de leur chalet à Notre-Dame pour avoir du bon temps et pour apprécier sa passion pour la nature. Elle était membre des clubs de l’âge d’or de Dieppe et de la paroisse Sainte-Thérèse.
    Les visites auront lieu à la Maison funéraire Chartersville 363, rue Amirault, à Dieppe (857-1901, www.chartersville.com), le lundi 18 février, de 14h à 16h et de 19h à 21h et le mardi 19 fvévrier, de 10h jusqu’à l’heure des funérailles. Les funérailles auront lieu en l’église Sainte-Thérèse, le mardi 19 février, à 11h. L’inhumation se fera au cimetière Notre-Dame-du-Calvaire de Dieppe.
    Un don à la Fondation Hôpital Dr-Georges-L.-Dumont serait apprécié par la famille.

    Albina Leger, 87, of Dieppe, NB, with her loving family by her side, passed away on Saturday, February 16th, 2008, at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital. Born in Scoudouc, NB, she was the daughter of the late Alyre and the late Agnes (née: Babin) Melanson. The joy of her life was her family, Albina and Gerard spent their retirement years at the summer cottage in Notre-Dame, where she would enjoy nature. She was a member of the Club d'Age d'Or de Dieppe and a parishoner of Ste-Thérèse Roman Catholic Church. She is survived by two daughters, Charline (David) Surette of Burlington, ON, and Suzanne Boudreau (Royden) of Moncton; three sons, Alonzo (Alicia) of Riverview, Michel of Notre-Dame and Gilles of Dieppe; one daughter in law, Viola Bell; one brother, Antoine Melanson of Moncton; eight grandchildren, Joline, Mireille, Julie, Daniel, Marc, Angela, Scott, and Lisa; four great grandchildren, Maya, Alexandre, Breanna, and Nathan; as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her step-mother, Melina; her husband, Gerard in 1999; one sister, Lorette; and also by three brothers, Alphonse, Edgar, and Clement.
