Albert Melanson
SAINTE-MARIE-DE-KENT, NB – Mr. Albert Melanson, 67, of Sainte-Marie-de-Kent, passed away Monday, May 19, 1997 at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton, NB.
Born is Ste-Marie July 14, 1929, he was the son of the late Henri Melanson and Marie (Léger) Allain of Moncton.
He is survived by a daughter Jeannette Cormier (Charles-Yvon) of Ste-Marie; three sons, Roger (Annette) and Réjean Melanson of Ste-Marie, Gilles (Kelly) of Pembrooke, Ont.; four sisters, Dorilla Nowlan (Laurie) of Ste-Marie, Ella Melanson, Irène Landry (Omer) of Ste-Marie, and Simonne Jeffrey (Clarence "Jeff") of Moncton; three brothers, Fernand (Claudette) of Ste-Marie, Paul (Lola), Antoine Melanson of Moncton; a granddaughter Mélanie; several nieces and nephews. His wife, the late Dora (Arsenault) Melanson, a step-father Aldeo Allain, and a sister Blanche Cormier predeceased him.
Remains resting at N.-D.-du-Carmel Roman Catholic Church in Ste-Marie with visiting hours Monday, May 19, from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, May 20, from 2 to 4 and from 6:00 p.m. The funeral mass will be held Tuesday, may 20, 1997 at 7 p.m. from N.-D.-du Carmel Roman Catholic in Ste-Marie with Father Georges Léger officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.

Mrs. Edward Leger -
Following an illness of three years' duration, Mrs. Edward Leger, Spring street, passed away in the City Hospital yesterday morning. Death had been expected for the past few weeks but it came a a severe shock to her immediate family an friends. Mrs. Leger was held in high esteem by all who knew her and her passing is regretted. She was born 65 years ago in St. Mary's Kent County, and came to Moncton in 1912 and had resided here since that time. Mrs. Leger was a member of L'Assomption Church and prior to her illness was actively associated with the social and religious work of the parish. She was a woman of fine character and was highly respected by many friends throughout Kent and Westmorland counties. Surviving are her husband and six sons, Henry, Fidele, Alban, Sylvain, Levi and Zoel, all of Moncton. The body is resting at Alban Leger's residence, 132 Lester avenue and the funeral will take place on Saturday morning with service in L'Assomption Church. Mrs. Geraldine Melanson, 79 years, widow of the, late Emile A. Melanson (1990), of Villa du Repos, Moncton., passed away Tuesday March 25, 1997, at the residence.
Born December 27, 1917, in Moncton, she was adopted by the late Alban and the late Anna (Landry) Léger.
She is survived by a daughter Roberte Melanson of Grand Falls; a son George-Emile of Moncton; a sister Marguerite LeBlanc (Alfred) of Fox Creek; 3 brothers, Edward (Ned) LeBlanc of New Glasgow, N.S., Robert LeBlanc of Moncton, and Father Georges Léger of Ste-Marie-de-Kent.
Resting at Frenette Funeral Home, 88 Church Street, Moncton with visiting hours Wednesday, March 26, 1997, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated Thursday, March 27, 1997, at 1:30 p.m. from the Assumption Cathedral Roman Catholic Church, Moncton. Helen 'Nellie' Delima Saulnier-Williams, 84, of Résidence du Marais, Dieppe, passed away Thursday, November 15, 2007 at the residence following a lengthy illness. Born February 1, 1923 in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late Sylvain and Maria (Leger) Leger. She is survived by her seven children, Alfreda Landry (Steve), Jeannette Smith (Don), Theresa Bastarache (Ronnie), Norma Bastarache (Gerald), Alice Cormier (Shirley), Edward and Robert Saulnier (Lucille); three brothers, Alfred Leger, Edward Surette, and Rodrigue 'Ging' Leger; many grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband, Bill Williams; a son, Clarence; a daughter, Edna-Rose; four brothers, Aurele, Alyre, Gerald, and Edouard. The family will receive relatives and friends Sunday afternoon from 2 to 4 p.m. at Salon funéraire Frenette Funeral Home, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) from where the funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, November 19, 2007. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe. Memorial donations to the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital Foundation, 'Arbre de l'Espoir' campaign, would be appreciated.
