EMBREE, Donald Basil (Don) -
75, 50 South Albion St., Amherst, died July 19, 1994, in Highland View Regional Hospital, Amherst. Born in Chignecto, he was a son of the late Conrad and Hilda (Ripley) Embree. He served with the Canadian Armed Forces for 25 years until 1970 when he retired with the rank of chief warrant officer. While in the Armed Forces, he was awarded the Efficiency Medal, Canadian Centennial Medal and Canadian Forces Decoration and Clasp. He then worked as head shipper at Canadian Assemblies and as parts manager at Canadian Tire in Amherst until 1979 when he retired due to ill health. He was a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Amherst Branch 10; North Nova Scotia Highlanders Sergeants Mess and member of North Nova Scotia Highlanders Memory Club. He is survived by his wife, the former Berlin Lucy Whalen; daughter, Bev (Mrs. Francis Legere), Amherst; brother, Fred, Mississauga, Ont.; two granddaughters; two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Donna Baker; sister, Florence Long. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in Furlong's Funeral Home, Amherst, where a legion service will be 8 p.m. tonight. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday in Cumberland Memorial Chapel, Amherst, Rev. Robert Mack officiating. Burial will be in St. Charles/ Nativity of Our Lady Cemetery, Amherst. Donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society.

Délina Comeau
À sa résidence, le lundi 10 juin 1991, à l’âge de 98 ans, est décédée Délina Comeau, épouse de feu Raphaël Comeau, domiciliée à Trois-Ruisseaux. Elle était fille de feu Mathias Léger et de feue Madeleine Gallant.
Elle laisse dans le deuil quatre filles: Althéa (Clorice Bourque), Edmée (Edmond Doiron) et Madeleine (Arthur Bourque), toutes de Cap-Pelé, et (Dora) Réginald Saint-Germain de Mississauga, Ontario, une soeur, Rose Henri de Chisolm, Etats-Unis, quatre frères: Léandre, Fred, Emile et Léo, tous de Chisoim, Etats-Unis, ainsi que 23 petits-enfants, 25 arrière-petits- enfants, et un arrière-arrière-petit-enfant.
La dépouille mortelle sera exposée à compter de 19h ce mardi 11 juin à la Salle mortuaire de l’église Sainte-Thérèse d’Avila de Cap-Pelé. Les funérailles auront lieu le jeudi 13 juin à 11h en l’église Sainte-Thérèse d’Avila de Cap- Pelé, et de là au cimetière de l’endroit.
Heures de visite: ce mardi 11 juin de 19h à 21h, et le mercredi 12 juin de 14h à 16h et de 19h à 21h.
La direction des funérailles a été confiée à la Maison funéraire Frenette de Shédiac.

Mrs. Mathias Leger Shediac, June 15-
The death of Mrs. Mathias Leger (nee Madelene Gallant) of Riley, Maine, and formerly of Leger Brook, occurred at Riley, Maine, on Friday morning, after an illness of about a year. The deceased was a native of Mount Carmel P.E.Island, and came to New Brunswick during her early years where she married Mathias Leger. Soon after their marriage they removed to Riley where they had resided for the last 15 years. The body was bought to Leger Brook on Saturday by motor hearse for burial at Cape Bauld. She leaves to mourn, her husband and five sons, Tilman, of Riley, Maine; Leandre, Emile, Fred and Leo Leger, of Chisholm, Maine; three daughters, Delina, Mrs. Raphael Comeau, of Leger Brook; Beatrice, Mrs.Theodore Doiron, of Cape Bauld, and Rose, Mrs. Armand Henry, of Riley, Maine, and one brother, Leon Gallant, of Summerside, P.E.Island. The funeral service was held this morning from Saint Theresa's Church, Cape Bauld, with Rev. Father Donat Robichaud officiating at high mass at 8:30 o'clock. The pallbearers were the five sons of the deceased, and theodore Doiron, of Cape Bauld. The large concourse of relatives and friends who attended the funeral service and the large number of spiritual offerings and cards of sympathy was evidence of the high esteem in which the late Mrs. Leger was held.
