Philip Cormier

SHEDIAC - Mr. Philip Cormier, 80, of Pleasant Street, Shediac and formerly of Railway Avenue, Moncton, passed away Friday, February 21, 1997 at his residence.

Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late Télesphore and the late Alice (Leger) Cormier. He was a retired Conductor with the C.N.R. before retirement, a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Moncton Branch No. 6 and a Veteran of World War II, having served with the Air Force.

He is survived by his wife, Doris (Cormier) Cormier of Shediac; a daughter, Linda Felli (Robert) of Ancienne-Lorette, Québec; four sisters, Jeannette Leger (René) of Moncton, Marguerite French of London, Ont., Lorraine Bodner (William) and Thérèse West (Godfrey), all of Ottawa; two brothers, Gerry Cormier (Evelyn) and Paul-Emile (Jeannine), all of Moncton; two grand-children, Véronique, Nicolas; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Doris Kelly and four brothers, Rev. Charles-Omer, Guy, Arthur and Rudolph Cormier.

Resting at Frenette Funeral Home, 88 Church Street, Moncton on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 25, 1997 at 11 a.m. at Ste-Thérèse de l'Enfant-Jésus Roman Catholic Church, Dieppe with Rev. Yvon Cormier officiating. Interment in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe.

In his memory, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association (1-800-663-3600) would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Fred C. DeVarennes, Jr.
Sackville Tribune; Sackville friends will regret to learn of the death of Frederick C. DeVarennes, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick C. and Isabella Leger DeVarennes, at Lynn, Mass., on June 10. Deceased was in his 14th year. Mr. and Mrs. DeVarennes formerly resided in Sackville. The young lad was stricken with a heart attack almost of the eve of his 14th birthday and his graduation from St. Patrick's school. Besides his parents, he is survived by two brothers and two sisters.
