Maxine J. Legere, 66, of 11 Fullerton Street, Amherst, died Friday morning at Highland View Hospital following a lengthy illness. Although he entered hospital only last
Wednesday he had been in poor health for the past number of years. He was the son of Ambroise Legere of Amherst. He was born in Shemoque, N.B. and lived in Amherst for about 50 years. He also spent a few years in Sackville, He was a member of St Charles Roman Catholic Church. Surviving are two daughters, Lorraine (Mrs. Alfred Brine) and Nita (Mrs Edgar Brian) both of Sackville; three sisters, Mrs. Della Cormier and Miss Rosie Legere, both of Amherst; and Miss Irene Legere of Halifax; one brother, Napoleon Legere, Amherst and 12 grandchildren.The funeral mass was held from St Charles R. C. Church Monday morning.The commital was in the Saint Charles receiving vault. Ambrose A. Legere - The death of Ambrose A. Legere, 11 Fullerton Street, Amherst occurred at his home early Wednesday evening following a short illness. He had only been bedfast for the past three weeks. He was in his 91st year and was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry J. Legere of St. Andre, N.B. he was born in St. Andre and resided in Shemogue, N.B. for ten years, and Nappan for two years, before coming to Amherst 54 years ago. He was a member of St. Charles Roman Catholic Church. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Elizabeth M. Brine April 26, 1964. He was also predeceased by his daughter Annie (Mrs. John Brine) of Amherst and two sons, Henry of Montreal and Maxime of Amherst. Surviving are three daughters, Della (Mrs. Arthur Cormier) of Amherst; Miss Rosie Legere, Amherst and Irene Legere of Halifax; one son Napoleon Legere Amherst and 17 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Surviving besides his wife, Irene Rhindress, are four daughters, Ona (Mrs. Harold Sears), and Helen (Mrs. Frank Cawlega), both of Port Credit, Ont.; Irene (Mrs. Joseph Mumford), Cheltenham, Ont.; Rita (Mrs. Lloyd Hoeg), Truro; two sons, Billy, Mississauga, Ont.; Donald, Aulac, N.B.; five step-daughters, Elizabeth (Mrs. James Watt), Arnprior, Ont.; Mary (Mrs. Harold Alexander), Cambridge, Ont.; Caroline Rhindress, Leona (Mrs. Allan Costin), and Cathy (Mrs. Roger Roberts), all of Amherst; three step-sons, Jimmie, Charlie and Terry, all of Amherst; two sisters, Mrs. Della Cormier, East Amherst; Irene, Beaverbank; 23 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 15 step-grandchildren. Miss Obeline Bourgeois -
The death of Miss Obeline Bourgeois, an aged resident of Fox Creek, occurred Saturday after about a month's illness at the home of Mr Phillip Dupuis. Miss Bourgeois had reached her seventy-eight year and was widely know and respected in the community. She is survived by one brother, James Bourgeois, of Boston, and a sister, Mrs. Amable Leger of Leger Corner. Mr. Bliss A. Bourgeois, regional treasurer, C.N.R., Moncton, is a nephew. The funeral will be held to St. Anselme church this Monday at 8 am.for requiem high mass, after which interment will be made in St. Anselme cemetery. - [S4333] Anselme A. Anselme A. Leger -
Anselme A. Leger, who returned three years ago from the United States, where he worked about five years as a tramway car conductor, died at his home in Leger Corner, early yesterday morning. The son of Mr. Amable O. Leger and Mrs. Mary (Bourgeois) Leger, the young man was popular in the community and his death will cause many to mourn his passing. The funeral will take place tomorrow morning from the family residence. Mass will be celebrated at St. Theresa Church at Leger Corner and interment will be made at the Shediac Road cemetery.

Regina Leger -
Regina Leger, 96, of Jordan Memorial Home passed away Monday, September 23, 1996 at her residence. Born in Dieppe, she was the daughter of the late Amable and Marie (Bourgeois) Leger. A homemaker she attended Ste-Therese Roman Catholic Church. Rested at Charterville Funeral Home. Funeral service was held at Charterville Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, September 25, 1996 at 11 a.m. Interment in Notre Dame du Calvaire Cemetery.
