Death Mrs. M. Richard Sackville (Special) -
The death of Mrs. Marie Zoe Richard, widow of Mac Richard occurred at her home in Middle Sackville Tuesday morning following a lengthy illness. She was 87 years of age. Mrs. Richard was born at Cape Bald a daughter of the late Calixte and Marguerite Richard Arsenault. She was a member of the Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church in Middle Sackville. She is survivied by five sons, Tildon Newport, Maine, Adelard, Moncton, Rene, at home, Emile and Joseph, both of Middle Sackville; four daughters, Mrs. Ernest Leger (Alice), of Middle Sackville, Mrs. Alban Leger (Edna) of Oshawa, Ont., Mrs, Roger Gravel (Alvina), of Montreal, and Hazel, at home; one sister, Mrs. John Casey, Port Dufierin N.S.; a number of grandchildren and several great grandchildren. The body is resting at Jones funeral home, with funeral mass to be celebrated Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church. SHEDIAC - Alice Legere, 88, of Shediac, passed away on Thursday, July 20, 1995 at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital.
Born in Port Elgin, she was a daughter of the late Maxime and Zoe (Arsenault) Richard. A lifelong resident of Sackville, she resided at Foyer Chez Nous, Shediac, for the past several years. She was a member of Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, Sackville.
She is survived by six daughters, Mrs. Aurele Hicks (Jean) and Mrs. Albertine Ward, both of Sackville, Mrs. Louise Lorette and Mrs. Alma Bainbridge, both of Moncton, Mrs. Vincent Chevarie (Doris) of Black's Harbour, Mrs. Laurie Gallant (Anita) of Shediac Bridge; four brothers, Tilmon of USA, Adelor of Dorchestor, Emile and Joseph, both of Sackville; three sisters, Mrs. Edna Legere and Miss Hazel Richard, both of Sackville, Mrs. Alvina Gravel of Montreal, Que.; 13 grandchildren; 18 great great grandchildren. SHe was predeceased by her husband, Ernest Legere; one son, Ivan; one brother, Rene; four grandchildren.
Resting at Jones Funeral Home, 56 Bridge Street, Sackville, with visiting hours on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral mass will be held at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, Sackville, on Saturday, July 22, 1995 at 11 a.m. with Father Alyre Cormier officiating. The death of Edna Legere, age 99, wife of Alban Legere, occurred on Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at the Sackville Memorial Hospital. Born in Port Elgin, she was a daughter of the late Maximillian and Zoe (Arsenault) Richard. Edna was a member of the St. Vincent Roman Catholic Church, Sackville. Edna will be sadly missed by her two grandchildren, Christine (Robert) Pritchard and Allan (Cathy) Legere; two great grandchildren, Ryan and Brooklyn; a brother Emile (Doris) Richard, Sackville. She was predeceased by her husband, Alban Legere (1974); two sons, Charlie and John; a daughter, Mona; four brothers, Tilman, Adelore, Rene and Joseph; three sisters, Alice, Hazel and Alvina. Edna's remains were entrusted into the care of the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street, Sackville (364-1300). A funeral mass was celebrated from St. Vincent's Roman Catholic Church, Sackville on Friday, November 9, 2007 at 4 p.m., Rev. Father Allison Carroll officiating. Burial in the Parish Cemetery. Born in Upper Sackville, NB, he was a son of the late Maximilian and Zoe (Arsenault) Richard. He was employed with the Department of Transportation for 18 years. He loved to garden and spend time outdoors. He will be sadly missed by his wife, the former Bertha LeBlanc; his son, Roger, Sackville; and daughters, Jeannette (Allan) Richard, Sackville and Joanne (Irois) Cormier, Cap-Pele; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two brothers, Adelore, St. Joseph, Emile (Doris), Sackville; two sisters, Edna Legere, Sackville and Alvina (Roger) Gravel, Montreal. It is with sadness that we announce the death of Adelard Richard age 96 years of Domaine De La Vallee, Memramcook and formerly of Middleton, NB. Born in St Andre he was the son of the late Maximilian and Zoe (Arsenault) Richard. Adelard is survived by a daughter, Yvette (Tony) Faucher; and a son, Thomas (Olen) (Theresa) both of New Hampshire,USA; a brother, Emile (Doris); and sister, Edna Legere both of Sackville; and a sister, Alvina Gravel of Montreal; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Rosa Powers; son, Frank; daughter, Thomasina; brothers, Tilman, Rene and Joseph; and sisters, Alice and Hazel. The remains have been entrusted in the care of the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street, Sackville (364-1300) from where visitation will be held on Monday, January 15th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.
