80, Shediac Cape, N.B., died October 31, 1996, in Moncton, N.B. Born in Moncton, he was a son of the late Ernest Leger and Annabel Clark. He was retired from the Federal Department of Fisheries with 35 years service, having worked in Moncton, Halifax, Dartmouth and Ottawa. He was a veteran of the Second World War; served overseas with the Royal Canadian Navy. Surviving are his wife, the former Therese Bergeron; daughters, Brenda (Mrs. John Blair), White Rock, B.C.; Jane, Beijing, China; three granddaughters; brother, Frank Leger, Moncton; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, the former Doris Hopper in 1980. No visitation. Funeral at a later date. Burial in Ste. Foy, Que. Donations to any charity. Carney- Leger
A wedding of interest to friends and relatives in this city took place recently, when Miss Dora Leger, daughter of Mrs. Elodie Leger, of Waltham, Mass, became the bride of Phillip Carney, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Carney, of Glen Cove N.Y. The ceremony took place in St. Patrick's Church, the Rev. Charles Boyd, of Brooklyn, N.Y. officiating at 9:30 nuptial mass, which was followed by a reception for members of the family, at the Hoffman Arms Bayville, N.Y. The bride, who was given in marriage by her uncle, E.J.Cormier, of Locust Village N.Y. wore a white lace gown over white satin. Her veil was of tulle and she carried white roses and lilies of the valley. Her sister, Miss Rita Leger, of Walthan, was bridesmaid. She wore pink tulle over satin, and carried pink roses and delphiniums. Gilbert Morris, of Glen Cove, was best man, Mr. and Mrs. Carney left on a wedding trip to the Catskill Mountains. On thier return they will reside in Locust Valley. Clarence Leger, of Moncton is a brother of the bride.
