Est décédé après une longue maladie le dimanche 28 février à la Villa Providence de Shédiac. M Alfred E. Léger, de la Villa Providence. Il était âgé de 80 ans.
Originaire de Memramcook, il était le fils de feu Ernest et Elyzabeth Boudreau-Léger.
Il fut employé au Metropolitan (assurances) pendant 38 ans avant de prendre sa retraite en octobre 1974, ancien président et membre dondateur du Club Boishébert de Shédiac, ancien président de la Comission des Egoûts de Shédiac, ancien conseiller de la Ville de Shédiac, membre de l'Association des Conservateurs de la province, représentant conservateur de Westmorland durant les élections provinciales de 1970, membre du Club de la Memtropolitan, membre des Lions de SHédiac, membre du Richelieu de Shédiac, memre des Ancien(ne)s Ami(e)s de l'Université de Moncton, membre des Chevaliers de Colombs, 3e degré, de Memramcook, ancien arbitre et empppire du hockey et baseball Junior et Sénior durant les années 40.

Juliette Léger (1908-2008)
À la Résidence O’Bons Soins, le jeudi 27 mars 2008, à l’âge de 99 ans, est décédée Juliette Léger, épouse de feu Alfred Léger, domiciliée autrefois à Shédiac, rue Pleasant. Née le 18 novembre 1908 à Barachois, Juliette était l’enfant unique de feu Antoine et Anna (Doiron) Cormier.
Elle laisse dans le deuil ses six enfants: père Maurice Léger, Bernard (Viola) de Shédiac, Roberte Léger (ami Jean Bachtold) d’Indian Island, Joanne Léger (Jean LeBlanc) de Moncton, Michel (Denise) et Georges (Jeanne-Mance) de Shédiac; 11 petits-enfants: Danielle, Luc, Lise, Mathieu, Christian, Yves, Nicolas, Gabriel, Dominic, Julien et Madeleine, sept arrière-petits-enfants: Jérémie, Cédric, Joëlle, Cloé, Annick, Simon et Éric, ainsi que plusieurs amis.
Son époux, Alfred, l’a précédée le 28 février 1988.
Après des études au Couvent de Bouctouche, Juliette a reçu son diplôme de l’École normale de Fredericton en 1926. Elle a enseigné à l’École du vieux chemin de Shédiac pendant quatre mois, après quoi elle passa 10 ans chez Eaton’s, comme traductrice. Elle a mis sur pied la première maternelle à Shédiac, de 1952 à 1958. Elle a été enseignante au District scolaire no 13, de 1958 à 1972, aux écoles Saint-Coeur-de-Marie, Saint-Joseph et Centrale de Shédiac.
Elle a été membre de la Ligue des femmes catholiques, des Lionettes, des Dames d’Acadie, du Club de l’âge d’or Silver Sands du Cap de Shédiac, du Club français des aînés de Shédiac, de la Société historique acadienne et de la Société historique de la Mer Rouge. Le 28 septembre 2006, la Société des enseignantes et des enseignants retraités francophones de N.-B. lui a offert un certificat soulignant le 80e anniversaire de son entrée dans la profession enseignante.
La famille recevra parents et amis à compter de 14h, le dimanche 30 mars, à la Maison funéraire Frenette ltée, 396, rue Main à Shédiac (532-3297, www.salonfrenette.com). Les funérailles auront lieu en l’église Saint-Joseph de Shédiac, le lundi 31 mars, à 15h. L’inhumation se fera au cimetière paroissial.
Heures de visites: le dimanche 30 mars, de 14h à 16h et 19h à 21h et lundi 31 mars, de 13h30 jusqu’au départ à 14h45.

Juliette Léger 1908 - 2008 -
Juliette Léger, wife of the late Alfred Léger, formerly of Pleasant St., Shediac passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2008 at the age of 99 years, at the O'Bons Soins Residence. Born November 18, 1908 in Barachois, Juliette was the only child of the late Antoine and Anna (Doiron) Cormier. Juliette attended the Bouctouche Convent and graduated in 1926 with a teaching degree from Normal School in Fredericton and taught at the Old Shediac Road School for four months. Soon after, she went to work as a translator at Eaton's for 10 years. Juliette established the first kindergarden in Shediac 1952 to 1958. She was a teacher with School District 13 from 1958 to 1972 at St. Coeur-de-Marie, St. Joseph and Central Schools in Shediac. She was a member of the Catholic Women's League, the Lionettes, les Dames d'Acadie, the Shediac Cape Silver Sands Golden Age Club, The Senior Citizens Francophone Club, the Acadian Historical Society, and the Historical Society of the Red Sea. On September 28, 2006, a certificate was given to her from the Francophone Teachers and Retired Teachers of New Brunswick Society to celebrate the 80th anviversary of her graduation from Normal School. She will be sadly missed by her six children, Father Maurice Léger and Bernard (Viola) of Shediac, Roberte Léger (friend Jean Bachtold) of Indian Island, Joanne Léger (Jean LeBlanc) of Moncton, Michel (Denise) and Georges (Jeanne-Mance) of Shediac; eleven grandchildren, Danielle, Luc, Lise, Mathieu, Christian, Yves, Nicolas, Gabriel, Dominic, Julien, Madeleine; seven great grandchildren, Jérémie, Cédric, Joëlle, Cloé, Annick, Simon and Éric; and by several friends. Her husband, Alfred passed away February 28, 1988. The family will receive relatives and friends at Frenette Funeral Home Ltd., 396 Main St., Shediac (532-3297) on Sunday, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday, from 1:30 p.m. until time of departure (2:45 p.m.). Funeral mass will be held at 3p.m. on Monday, March 31, 2008 at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Shediac. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Silas P. LeBlanc -
Many friends and relatives in Leger Corner as well as in Moncton and other places will learn with keen regret of the passing of Silas P. LeBlanc, retired C.N.R. boilermaker, which occurred in the Hotel Dieu early yesterday after an illness of one week. Deceased was 68 years of age and was a highly esteemed resident of Leger Corner. He also had many friends in railway circles in Moncton. He retired from the C.N.R. employ six years ago under the Provident Fund Act after 42 years of faithful service. Surviving are his wife, five sons, William, of Moncton, Ernest, of Campbellton, Emile, of Lynn, Mass., Edgar, at home and Aurele, of Leger Corner. Three brothers and four sisters also survive. The brothers are Joshua and Raymond, of Upper Dover, and Everett, of New Bedford, Mass. The sisters are Mrs. Joseph Landry and Mrs. Andre Arsenault, of Moncton and Mrs. Dominic LeBlanc, Upper Dover and Mrs. Adolph Leger, Memramcook. PRE-D'EN-HAUT - À l'hôpital Dr. Georges-L. Dumont, de Moncton, le samedi 19 décembre 1992, à l'âge de 79 ans, est décédée Lorette landry, domiciliée à Pré-d'en-Haut. Elle était l'épouse en premières noces de feu Joseph Léger et en deuxièmes noces de feu Edgar Landry. Née à LaMontagne, elle était la fille de feu Adolphe Léger et de feu Eveline LeBlanc.
Elle laisse dans le deuil deux fils: Bernard Léger de Toronto et Michel Léger de LaMontagne; trois belle-fille: Rosaline (Léo-Paul LeBlanc) et Laudia (Ronald LeBlanc), toutes deux de Fox Creek, et Marie Bourque de Dieppe; trois beaux fils: Alfred Landry de Saint-André, Zoël et Donald Landry, tous deux de Moncton; une soeur, Marguerite Léger de Shédiac, ainsi que 20 petits-enfants, huit arrière-petits-enfants et plusieurs neveux et nièces.
Un fils, Paul-Eugène Léger; deux soeurs: Hectorine Robichaud (décédée en juillet dernier), et Juliette, ainsi que deux frères: Aurèle et Philippe, l'ont précédé dans la tombe.
Mme Landry fut membre du Club de l'âge d'or de Pré-d'en-Haut.
La dépouille mortelle est présentement exposée à la Maison funéraire Dupuis de Memramcook. Les funérailles auront lieu en l'église Notre-Dame de l'Annonciation de Pré-d'en-Haut, le mardi 22 décembre à 19h, et, de là, au cimetière Saint-Thomas de Saint-Joseph.
Heures de visites: ce lundi 21 décembre, de 14h à 16h et de 19h à 21h, et le mardi 22 décembre, de 14h jusqu'à l'heure des funérailles.
La direction des funérailles a été confiée à la Maison funéraire Dupuis de Memramcook.
