    M. Clarence Brun

    M. Clarence Brun, de R.R. 1, Shédiac, est décédé vendredi le 26 août à l'hôpital Dr-Georges-L.-Dumont à Moncton après une longue maladie à l'âge de 49 ans.

    Né à Grande-Digue, il était le fils de feu Arthur et Lina (née Léger) Brun.

    Il laisse dans le deuil outre sa mère, cinq soeurs et sept frères: mme Pat Donelle (Florida) de Caissie Cape, Mme Guy LeBlanc (Alice) de Shédiac, Mme Henry Waide (Francine), Mme André Arsenault (Rita) toutes deux de Toronto; Mme Fred Cormier (Marguerite) de Shédiac, Eloi et Louis tous deux de Barachois, alonzo de Rochester, N.Y., Georges et Lévi tous deux de Toronto, Clorice de Shédiac et Alcide de Barachois.

    Les funérailles ont eu lieu hier à une heure en l'église Saint-Joseph de Shédiac avec inhumation dans le cimetière paroissial.

    With great sadness the family of George Brun, 72 of Kanata Ont. announce his passing away on Wednesday April 9, 2008 at the General Hospital in Ottawa Ont. after a brief illness with cancer. He was born Feb 9, 1936 in Grand-Digue N.B. He was the son of the late Arthur Brun and the late Lina Brun (Leger). He is survived by his wife Jeanne Brun (Richard); two sons, David (Rita), and Gary; one granddaughter, Stephanie; one grandson, Dylan of Kanata, Ont. George is also survived by three brothers, Alonzo of Rochester N.Y., Clorice (Racelle), Shediac N.B., Louis (Rita) of Grand Barachois; four sisters, Francine Wade (Henrie) of Missisauga Ont., Rita Juneau (Andre) of Scarborough Ont., Marguarite Cormier (Val), Alice LeBlanc Lloyd of Shediac; and by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents he was predeceased by six brothers, Eloi, Alcide, Freddy, Clerance, Léo, Lévi; two sisters, Florida Downing (late Patrick), Ozilia Hache (late Albert). Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held in at Kelly Funeral Home, 580 Eaglison Rd. Kanata Ont. on Monday April 14, 2008 at 11am.

    M.. Eloi Brun. de Barachois, est décédé soudainement à l’hôpital Dr-Georges-Dumont, le jeudi 8 octobre à l’âge de 61 ans.
    Né à Grand-Digue, il était le fils de Arthur et Lina (Léger) Brun. Il était pêcheur. Il faisait partie de la paroisse St-Henri-du-Barachois. Il était un ancien combattant de la Deuxième Guerre mondiale.
    Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse, née Rita Boudreau; sa mère, Mme Lina Brun, de la Cité d’âge d’or à Shédiac; trois filles et sept fils: Mme Gérald Arsenault (Claudette), de Barachois; Mme Don Hudlln (Lina), de Fredericton; Mme Donald Fougère (Gloria), de Shédiac Roger, de Mississauga, Ontario; Antoine, de Shédiac: Eric, de Barachois; Léandre, de Haute-Aboujagane: Donald, et Maurice, tous deux de Barachois et Gérald, de Moncton. Il laisse également cinq soeurs et six frères: Mme Pat Donelle (Florida), de Caissie Cape; Mme Henri Wade (Francine), de Toronto; Mme Rita Juneau, de Toronto; Mme Marguerite Cormier et Mme Guy LeBlanc (Alice), toutes deux de Shédiac; Alcide, de Shédiac; Louis, de Barachois; Clorice, de Shédiac; Lévi et George, tous deux de Toronto et Alonzo, de Buffalo, New York, ainsi que 17 petits-enfants et un arrière-petit-enfant. Une soeur et trois frères l’ont précédé dans la tombe: Mme Albert Haché (Ozélia), Freddie, Clarence et Léo.
    La dépouille mortelle sera exposée à partir de 19h ce soir au salon funéraire Frenette à Shédiac. Les funérailles auront lieu dimanche à 14h en l'église St-henri du Barachois avec inhumation dans le cimetière paroissial.

    Mrs. E. Leger -
    The death of Mrs. Eliza Leger, of Grand Digue occurred Saturday, Jan. 10 at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital following a brief illness. She was 94. Born in Grand Digue, she was a daughter of the late Damien and Marie Blanche (Goguen) Cormier, both of Notre Dame. She was a retired teacher. Her husband Adelard Leger, died in Nov 1940. She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Alphonse Poirier (Lorette) of Grand Digue, Evangeline Leger of Grand Digue, Bernadette of Ottawa, and Mrs. Herve Poirier (Justine) of Shediac Bridge; one son Pierre of Moncton; and seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member if her immediate family. The body is resting at Frenette's Funeral Home, Shediac with the funeral service to be held today at 10::30 a.m. in the Grand Digue Roman Catholic Church. Interment will be in the Grand Digue vault with burial in the spring.

    Mrs. Armand Goguen - Notre Dame, Kent Co., Sept. 17 -
    A large number of relatives and friends attended the funeral of Mrs. Armand Goguen, wife of Armand Goguen, of Notre Dame, which took place this morning from the family residence. A high mass of requiem was chanted in Notre Dame Church by Rev. Father Arthur Leger. P.P., after which burial took place in the parish cemetery. The pallbearers were Joseph and Laurie Cormier, Paul, Aris, Gerard and Edmond Goguen, all grandsons of the deceased. The late Mrs. Goguen was a native of Notre Dame, being born 82 years ago. Four years ago Mr. and Mrs. Goguen celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary on which occasion they were specially honored with a message of congratulation from the King and Queen. The chief mourners were a daughter, Mrs. Clovis Cormier, six sons, Joseph Lucien, Ottawa; Medore, Cocagne; Adelard, Lewisville; Clovis, Napadogan; Laurie, Gardner, Mass., and Armand, Notre Dame; also three sisters, Mrs. Louis Cormier, of Notre Dame; Mrs. Adelard Leger, Grand Digue; Mrs. Aime Cormier, Notre Dame; two brothers, Mr. Malcolm Cormier, Cocagne, and Mr. Emilien Cormier, Notre Dame. The ladies of Ste. Anne's Soladity attended in a body. Many spritual offerings were received by the family from relatives and friends and also a beautiful spray of flowers from the staff of the Railway Mail Service branch of the Post Office Dept. Ottawa. Among those noticed at the funeral were Aurele Leger, M.P., Grand Digue; Levi Goguen, Alphonse Goguen, Cocagne; Dismas Caissie, St. Anthony, and many others.

    Mrs. Cormier, widow of Damien Cormier, died recently at the age of 87 years. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Frances Cormier of Lynn, Mass., four sons, Malcolm Cormier of Cocagne, Emilien Cormier at home, Adolphe Cormier of Salem, Mass., and Dost Cormier of Gardner Mass., and six daughters, Mrs. Amand Goguen and Mrs. Louis Cormier, both of Notre Dame, Kent County; Mrs. Aime Cormier, of Cocagne, Mrs. Peter Roy of Moncton. Mrs. Francis Cormier of New Westminster, B.C. and Mrs. Adelard Leger of Grand Digue, Kent County. The funeral at the parish church was largely attended. The pallbearers were Delphin Goguen, Livain Goguen, Onesime Cormier, Alyre Cormier, Alfred Cormier and Paul Cormier, all grandsons of the late Mrs. Cormier. There were a large number of spiritual remembrances.
