ANSELME LEGER
Les funérailles de Anselme Léger, qui a succombé lundi de la semaine dernière à l'Hôtel Dieu à une pneumonie, ont eu lieu mercredi dernier à l'église l'Assomption, au milieu d'une assistance très nombreuses. Une grand'messe solennelle de Requiem fut chantée par M. l'abbé Henri-D. Cormier, curé de la paroisse. Les porteurs étaient MM. Clovis LeBlanc, Eugène LeBlanc, Henri Dupuis, Ben Melanson, Aimée Boudreau et Roy Gould.
Feu M. Léger, qui était inspecteur de wagons au C.N.R., laisse outre son épouse, neuf enfants. Ce sont: Rodolphe, Raymond, Ernest, Gerard, Louis, Paul, Valmond, Hubert et Jeannine, tous à la maison. Un frère et quatre soeurs lui survivent également: M. Albénie Léger, de Boston; Mlle Alvina et Annie et Mme Ben Melanson, de Lewisville, et Mme Jules Melanson, de Boston. Joseph Gerard (JG) C. Leger (1925-2007) -
Gerard C. Leger, of Moncton, NB, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on June 23, 2007. He was the son of the late Anselme Leger and Ada (Gould) Paradis. A Veteran of The Second World War, JG was employed as a Corrections Officer at the Dorchester Penitentiary, retiring in 1986. JG will be remembered as a loving family man who had a passion for hockey and a good game of cards with his family and friends. JG will be sadly missed by his wife, Rita of (59 years); and his children, Michael (Joanne), Charles (Patricia), Monique (Jim), Denise (Stephen) and Ron (Angele); as well as his many grandchildren and great grandchildren; his brother, Louis; and sister, Jeaninne, (Leopold Belliveau). By request there will be no visitation at the funeral home. The Royal Canadian Legion will conduct a Service at Christ-Roi church at 10:45 am on Wednesday, June 27th. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 am on Wednesday, June 27 at Christ-Roi Church Dominion St. A reception will be held following the service at the Club D'age D'or. Interment in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, The family would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses at the Cardiac Critical Care Unit of The Moncton Hospital. Anselme Leger Passed Away in Hotel Dieu Early This Morning -
The many friends of Mr. Anselme Leger, 33 Norwood avenue, will deeply regret to learn of his death which occurred in the Hotel Dieu this morning about three o'clock, following an illness of about two weeks, of pneumonia and jaundice. Mr. leger had been critically ill for the past three days and although everything was done that medical skill and attention could provide, he failed to rally and passed away at the time stated. The deceased was car inspector of the Canadian National Railways and was highly esteemed by his superior officers and his fellow employees who will be deeply grieved to learn of passing. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and also a member of Brotherhood of Railway Carmen. Mr. Leger is survived by his wife and nine children, all at home, as well as three sisters and a brother. Valmond (Val) Léger, 62, of Dorchester died at the Dr. George L. Dumont Hospital on Friday, February 25, 1994 after a brief illness.
He was the son of the late Anselme and Ada (Gould) Léger.
He had been employed as a cook at the Provincial Jail. He attented St. Edward Church, Dorchester and has been a member of Alcoholics Anonymous for thirty three years.
He is survived by his wife Pauline (White); three daughters, Beverly Kay, Mrs. Richard Estabrooks (Kimberly), Martine Hicks, all of Sackville; five grandchildren, Rhonda, Tyler, Brittany, Sara and Lacey; one sister, Mrs. Leo-Paul Belliveau (Jeannine), Moncton; five brothers, Rudolphe (Rudy) and Raymond Leger, Moncton, Louis Leger, Riverview, Ernest Leger, Bathurst, Gerald Leger, Riverview, five grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister Huberte Ryan and a brother Paul Leger.
Remains resting at Dupuis Funeral Home Ltd., Memramcook with visiting hours Saturday, February 26, 1994, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Sunday, February 27, 1994, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Monday, February 28, 1994, 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Funeral service to be held at the St. Edward Church, Dorchester on Monday, February 28, 1994 at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Chartersville.

Miss L. Robichaud
Richibucto (Special) - Miss Lucille Robichaud, 66, of Richibucto, died Tuesday, Feb. 28, 1989, at Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton, after a short illness. Born in Richibucto, she was a daughter of the late Louis and Laurette (Langis) Robichaud. She was a member of St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church and CWL. She attended grammer school in Richibucto, Sacred Heart Convent in Buctouche and commercial college. She received nurcing training at St. Joseph's Hospital, Saint John. She returned to Richibucto in 1941 and was assistant to her father, the secretary of Kent County. Succeeding him in 1955, she became the first woman to serve as secretary-treasurer of a New Brunswick municipality. In 1960, when the Program of Equal Opportunity divided the province into regions, she became the first woman named as government representative of a region, a position she held until she retired in 1980. She is survived by four sisters, Mrs. Raymond Leger (Rita) of Hollywood, Fla., Miss Carmella Robichaud of Bathurst; Miss Theresa Robichaud and Miss Loretta Robichaud, both of Richibucto; four brothers, Dr. L. J. Yves Robichaud of Summerside, P.E.I.; Dr. L.P.A. Robichaud of Foy, Que.; Dr. J. Langis Robichaud of Moncton and Dr. Adrien J.T. Robichaud of Amherst, N.s.; 21 nieces and nephews and six great-nieces and great-nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Mrs. Norman Bourque (Stella). Her remains rested in THompson's Funeral Home, Richibucto. Funeral mass was celebrated Saturday, March 4 at St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, Richibucto. ANSELME LEGER
Les funérailles de Anselme Léger, qui a succombé lundi de la semaine dernière à l'Hôtel Dieu à une pneumonie, ont eu lieu mercredi dernier à l'église l'Assomption, au milieu d'une assistance très nombreuses. Une grand'messe solennelle de Requiem fut chantée par M. l'abbé Henri-D. Cormier, curé de la paroisse. Les porteurs étaient MM. Clovis LeBlanc, Eugène LeBlanc, Henri Dupuis, Ben Melanson, Aimée Boudreau et Roy Gould.
Feu M. Léger, qui était inspecteur de wagons au C.N.R., laisse outre son épouse, neuf enfants. Ce sont: Rodolphe, Raymond, Ernest, Gerard, Louis, Paul, Valmond, Hubert et Jeannine, tous à la maison. Un frère et quatre soeurs lui survivent également: M. Albénie Léger, de Boston; Mlle Alvina et Annie et Mme Ben Melanson, de Lewisville, et Mme Jules Melanson, de Boston. Anselme Leger Passed Away in Hotel Dieu Early This Morning -
The many friends of Mr. Anselme Leger, 33 Norwood avenue, will deeply regret to learn of his death which occurred in the Hotel Dieu this morning about three o'clock, following an illness of about two weeks, of pneumonia and jaundice. Mr. leger had been critically ill for the past three days and although everything was done that medical skill and attention could provide, he failed to rally and passed away at the time stated. The deceased was car inspector of the Canadian National Railways and was highly esteemed by his superior officers and his fellow employees who will be deeply grieved to learn of passing. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and also a member of Brotherhood of Railway Carmen. Mr. Leger is survived by his wife and nine children, all at home, as well as three sisters and a brother. Valmond (Val) Léger, 62, of Dorchester died at the Dr. George L. Dumont Hospital on Friday, February 25, 1994 after a brief illness.
He was the son of the late Anselme and Ada (Gould) Léger.
He had been employed as a cook at the Provincial Jail. He attented St. Edward Church, Dorchester and has been a member of Alcoholics Anonymous for thirty three years.
He is survived by his wife Pauline (White); three daughters, Beverly Kay, Mrs. Richard Estabrooks (Kimberly), Martine Hicks, all of Sackville; five grandchildren, Rhonda, Tyler, Brittany, Sara and Lacey; one sister, Mrs. Leo-Paul Belliveau (Jeannine), Moncton; five brothers, Rudolphe (Rudy) and Raymond Leger, Moncton, Louis Leger, Riverview, Ernest Leger, Bathurst, Gerald Leger, Riverview, five grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister Huberte Ryan and a brother Paul Leger.
Remains resting at Dupuis Funeral Home Ltd., Memramcook with visiting hours Saturday, February 26, 1994, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Sunday, February 27, 1994, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Monday, February 28, 1994, 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Funeral service to be held at the St. Edward Church, Dorchester on Monday, February 28, 1994 at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Chartersville.

Joseph Gerard (JG) C. Leger (1925-2007) -
Gerard C. Leger, of Moncton, NB, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on June 23, 2007. He was the son of the late Anselme Leger and Ada (Gould) Paradis. A Veteran of The Second World War, JG was employed as a Corrections Officer at the Dorchester Penitentiary, retiring in 1986. JG will be remembered as a loving family man who had a passion for hockey and a good game of cards with his family and friends. JG will be sadly missed by his wife, Rita of (59 years); and his children, Michael (Joanne), Charles (Patricia), Monique (Jim), Denise (Stephen) and Ron (Angele); as well as his many grandchildren and great grandchildren; his brother, Louis; and sister, Jeaninne, (Leopold Belliveau). By request there will be no visitation at the funeral home. The Royal Canadian Legion will conduct a Service at Christ-Roi church at 10:45 am on Wednesday, June 27th. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 am on Wednesday, June 27 at Christ-Roi Church Dominion St. A reception will be held following the service at the Club D'age D'or. Interment in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, The family would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses at the Cardiac Critical Care Unit of The Moncton Hospital.
