    Phillip M. Melanson Scoudouc, Oct. 8 -
The parish of Scoudouc was saddened by the death of Phillip M. Melanson, who died at the age of 62 on Saturday afternoon at 5 o'clock, at his home. Although the deceased had been ill throughout the summer his passing came as a shock to the community. He leaves to mourn, his wife (nee Melandie Leger), six sons, Philias, Alphonse, Leandre, Clorice and Anthone, at home, and Camil, in Minto. One Daughter (Alma) Mrs. Blair Melanson, of Scoudouc; one sister, Mrs. Theotime Leger, of Scoudouc, and one brother, Joseph Melanson, of Malakoff, also survive. The funeral service was held Monday morning from St. Jacques le Majeur church, with high mass by Rev. Father Joseph L'Archeveque. Interment was made in the parish cemetery. The pallbearers were Phillas, Alphonse, Leandre and Anthony Melanson, sons of the deceased, and Arcade and Alberty Melanson, nephews of the deceased. The large number present at the funeral service as well as the spiritual offerings attested to the high esteem in which the late Mr. Melanson was held.
