    1928-2006

    Dora Marie Léger, 78, wife of the late Edward Léger, of Edward Street, Moncton, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 13, 2006 at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital following a short illness. Born December 13, 1927 in Sunny Brae, she was the youngest child of the late Olivier and Eveline (LeBlanc) DesRoches. She was a devoted and loving daughter, wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, neighbor, and friend. Dora will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all who knew her because of her strength of character, generous heart, devotion to her family, friends, and to those in need. A homemaker, Dora enjoyed an active life as a curler for many years with the ladies at Beauséjour Curling Club, a member and volunteer with the Ladies Auxiliary Knights of Columbus council #1310, and Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix Golden Age Club. Dora is survived by her three children, Denise Leger (Vince) of San Diego, Gisele Smith (Bob) of Moncton, Mike (Sharon) with whom she resided; five grandchildren, Nicole (Serge), Marcel (Sandra), Martin, Colin, and Ryan; a great-grandson, Simon; a brother, Leo DesRoches (Kit) of Moncton, a sister, Libbie Parent (late Fernand) of Ste-Foy, Qc.; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Vic LeBlanc, Don Legere, Norman and Jeannine Leger, Paul and Bella Boivin, Benny MacMillan; two aunts, many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and her caring neighbors JoAnn and Donnie Cail. Besides her parents and the love of her life Eddie (1985), she is also predeceased by two sisters, Lena LeBlanc and Maria Legere. Resting at Frenette Funeral Home, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900). Visiting hours Sunday, October 15th, 2006 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Monday, October 16th, 2006 from 1 p.m. until time of departure (1:45). The Funeral Mass will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, October 16, 2006 at Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix Roman Catholic Church, Murphy Avenue, Moncton. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe.
