Native of Canada; longtime Gardner resident
GARDNER- Premelia M. (Allain) Legere, 82, of 174D Blanchard St., was stricken ill and died Thursday, Feb. 29, at home. Born March 18, 1913, in Richibucto Cape, New Brunswick, Canada, she was the daughter of Patrick and Basilice (Leger) Allain, and had lived most of her life in Gardner.
Mrs. Legere was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church and the Gardner Golden Agers. She was a former member of Les Bons Amis. She leaves two sons, Leo Legere of Lady Lake, Fla., and Normand Legere of Peabody; a daughter, Irene Jaillet of Lady Lake; four brothers, Laurie Allain of Richibucto, New Brunswick, and Joseph Armand and Arthur Allain, all of Richibucto Cape; two sisters, Edna Gallant of Moncton, New Brunswick, and Rita Mozerolle(sic) of Richibucto; 13 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. Her husband of 53 years, Ola J. Legere, died in 1985. A son, Ulysses Legere of Santa Monica, Calif., died about seven years ago.
The funeral will be held Saturday from the Dufault-Boucher Funeral Home, 110 Nichols St., with a Mass at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of the Lake Church, 135 Nichols St. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are tonight from 7 to 9. Memorial donations may be made to the Gardner Visiting Nursing Association, 95 Mechanic St., Gardner 01440.

Alcide Daigle
ACADIEVILLE - À la Villa Acadie d’Acadieville, le dimanche 13 avril 2008, à l’âge de 77 ans, est décédé Alcide Daigle, domicilié à Acadieville. Né à Acadieville, il était fils de feu Michelle Daigle et de feu Livina (Daigle) Daigle.
Il laisse dans le deuil trois soeurs: Dora Légère de Richibouctou-Village, Zelica Daigle de la Villa Acadie et Noëlla Barrieau d’Acadieville, ainsi que quatre frères: André Daigle de Bouctouche, Livain Daigle de Montréal, Gerard Daigle de Saint-Ignace et Nazaire Daigle de Gardner, Mass.
Un frère, Calixte, l’a précédé dans la tombe.
M. Daigle a travaillé pour le Canadien Pacifique à Saint-Jean, pendant 20 ans, au département du chargement et de l’expédition.
Les visites se feront à compter de 19h, le vendredi 18 avril, en l’église Immaculée-Conception d’Acadieville. Les funérailles auront lieu en l’église Immaculée-Conception d’Acadieville, le samedi 19 avril, à 11h. L’inhumation se fera au cimetière paroissial, plus tard ce printemps.
Heures de visites: le vendredi 18 avril, de 19h à 21h et le samedi 19 avril, de 9h jusqu’à l’heure des funérailles.
