    Arthur H. Ledger

    GERMANTOWN, N.B. - Arthur H. Ledger, 88, of Germantown, passed away Friday, September 2, 1994, after a lengthy illness.

    Born October 2, 1905, in Jay, Maine, USA, he was the son of the late Patrick and Elise (LeBlanc) Ledger of Jay, Maine. He was educated in the schools of Jay and Sanford, Maine. He was self-employed as a mechanic and later his hobbies were woodcraft and driving his own race horse. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman all his life. He was a member of both the Eagles Lodge and Massons Lodge in Westbrooke, Maine. Mr Ledger married Orpah Sheffar on May 14, 1968 in Oshawa, Ont., lived a short time in Gorham, Maine, before moving to Albert, N.B. He attended the West River United Church.

    He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Orpah (Sheffar) Ledger; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Patrick Sargent (Gertie); and four stepsons (Mr. Floyd Sheffar, wife Dorthy, Mr. Wallace Sheffar, wife Marina, Mr. Fletcher Sheffar, wife Imelda and Mr. Carvel Sheffar, wife Joan; 16 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one sister, Margaret.

    Remains resting at Albert County Funeral Home vith visiting hours on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Albert County Funeral Home on Sunday, September 4, 1994, at 3 p.m.

    In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the memorial of the donor's choice, would be appreciated by the family.

    Orpah Beulah Ledger

    GERMANTOWN - Mrs Orpah Beulah Ledger, 89, of Germantown passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 1995 at Albert County Hospital.

    Born June 20, 1906 in Hebron, she was the daughter of the late Florence Stewart. Until retirement, she was employed with General Motors, Oshawa, Ont., in the cafeteria. Upon retirement, she resided in Gorham, Maine, USA, for several years then came back to reside in Germantown. She was a member of the West River United Church and the Loyal True Blue Association.

    She is survived by a daugther Gertrude Sargent and her husband Pat of Germantown; four sons, Floyd Shaffer and his wife Dorothy of Albert Mines, Wallace Shaffer and his wife Marina of Riverview, Carvel Shaffer and his wife Joan of Germantown, Fletcher Shaffer and his wife Imelda of Germantown; 15 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; also several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, Garnet Shaffer in 1942; her second husband, Arthur Ledger in 1994; four sons Ronald, George, Reginald, Alphonse; one daughter Irene; one brother Fletcher; one grandson Paul; one great grandson Jeremy.

    Resting at Albert County Funeral Home with visiting hours Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Albert County Funeral Home on Friday, December 1, 1995 at 2 p.m. with Rev. sally McShane officiating. Interment in Alma United Cemetery.

    Donations to the memorial of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
