    92, Smith avenue, Parrsboro, died Thursday in Highland View Regional Hospital, Amherst. Born in Parrsboro, he was a son of the late James and Clara (MacAloney) Legere. He retired after 50 years of service with Parrsboro Fire Department. He served in the Merchant navy during the First and Second world wars. He was a member of Parrsboro Shore, Historical Society, Parrsboro Curling Club and Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 45. He was named Parrsboro's Citizen of the Year in 1985. He is survived by his wife, the former Carrie McCully; a daughter, Mrs. Charlotte Cormier, Amherst; two sons, Archie, Parrsboro; Steward, Bass River; two brothers, Dexter, Phillip, both of Parrsboro; Several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Frederick (Sonny); two brothers, Frederick, James. The body is in Smith's Funeral Home, Parrsboro, visiting 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today. Funerals will be 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Brigid's Roman Catholic Church, Parrsboro, Rev. Patrick Cosgrove officiating. Spring Burial will be in church cemetery. Donations may be made to any charity.

    92, Smith avenue, Parrsboro, died Thursday in Highland View Regional Hospital, Amherst. Born in Parrsboro, he was a son of the late James and Clara (MacAloney) Legere. He retired after 50 years of service with Parrsboro Fire Department. He served in the Merchant navy during the First and Second world wars. He was a member of Parrsboro Shore, Historical Society, Parrsboro Curling Club and Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 45. He was named Parrsboro's Citizen of the Year in 1985. He is survived by his wife, the former Carrie McCully; a daughter, Mrs. Charlotte Cormier, Amherst; two sons, Archie, Parrsboro; Steward, Bass River; two brothers, Dexter, Phillip, both of Parrsboro; Several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Frederick (Sonny); two brothers, Frederick, James. The body is in Smith's Funeral Home, Parrsboro, visiting 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today. Funerals will be 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Brigid's Roman Catholic Church, Parrsboro, Rev. Patrick Cosgrove officiating. Spring Burial will be in church cemetery. Donations may be made to any charity.
