BLACKBURN, Hillary James -
77, Lower Sackville, died October 13, 1997, in QEII Health Sciences Centre, New Infirmary Site. Born in Prospect, he was a son of the late William and Mary (Hartlen) Blackburn. He had worked with Coca-Cola for 45 years until his retirement. He was a member of Sackville Seniors Fifties Club. He was an avid musician, having played on CHNS Radio in his early 20s. He was an avid outdoorsman. Surviving are sons, Desmond, Darrell, Gary, Hillsvale, Hants Co.; Francis, Mount Uniacke; Wade, Lower Sackville; Tim, East Chezzetcook; daughters, Fay (Mrs. Gifford Mullen), Mount Uniacke; Linda (Mrs. Bob Legere), Jane (Mrs. Joey Legere), Kathy (Mrs. Scott MacPherson), Lower Sackville; brother, Cyril; 26 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Helen Pickrem; brothers, Domnick, Joseph, Harold, Roy, Clarence, George, John; sisters, Rose Jollimore, Mary Donaldson, Gladys Jollimore. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Dr., Lower Sackville. Funeral 10 a.m. Thursday in St. John Vianney Roman Catholic Church, Rev. Gerald David officiating. Cremation to follow. Private burial in Oakridge Memory Gardens. Donations to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or The Arthritis Society.
