PATTERSON, Brenton Samuel -
79, Joggins, died August 27, 1997, in Highland View Regional Hospital, Amherst. Born at Spencers Island, he was a son of Mrs. Linnie (Ells) Patterson, Fredericton, N.B., and the late Crandall Patterson. He was a retired fisherman and coal miner and for many years worked as a bartender at Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 4, Joggins. He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church, Joggins, and Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 4, Joggins. Surviving are his wife, the former Freda Burbine; daughters, Barb Jackson, Amherst; Linda (Mrs. Art Jorgensen), Calgary, Alta.; Helen (Mrs. Doug Legere), Tammy (Mrs. Gary Carde), Trena Patterson, Moncton, N.B.; Darlene (Mrs. Mike Thibodeau), Oromocto, N.B.; Sherry (Mrs. Dan Kent), Ste. Marie, N.B.; Natasha (Mrs. Rodney Melanson), at home; sons, Wayne, Terry, Joggins; Jimmy, Larry, Calgary; Dale, Moncton; sisters, Julia Allaby, Keswick, N.B.; Lou McCulligh, Fredericton; brothers, Crandall, Robert, Toronto; Alder, Collingwood; 19 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by sisters, Alice Weeks, Dolly Burlock, Berlynn Fox; brother, Stanley. Visitation 7-9 p.m. today, 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Friday, parish prayers 8:30 p.m. Friday, all in Furlong's Funeral Home, Amherst. Funeral 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church, Joggins, Rev. J.B. Christensen officiating.
