She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church, Joggins; Cumberland South Liberal Association, and Joggins Christmas Club. She was an associate member of Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 4, Joggins. Surviving are daughter, Marilyn (Mrs. Trueman Copp), Riverview, N.B.; sons, Douglas, Joggins; Dara, Brookdale; sisters, Mary (Mrs. Roy Jury), Rita Dujay, Joggins; Ruby (Mrs. Francis Perry), Lewisville, N.B.; brothers, Bernard, Halifax; Frederick, Beeton, Ont.; five grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Philip; four infant sisters and brothers. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today, parish prayers 8 p.m. today, both in Furlong's Funeral Home, Amherst. Funeral 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church, Joggins, Rev. J.B. Christensen officiating. Burial in Ragged Reef Cemetery. 75, Truro, died April 25, 1997, in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Sackville, N.B., he was a son of the late Wesley and Mary Belle (Lerette) Sears. He retired to Truro, after being employee of Ford Motor Co., Oakville, for 28 years. A veteran of Second World War, he served with the Canadian Army in England, and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Debert. Surviving are his wife, the former Ona Legere; sons, Owen, Stephen, Mississauga; daughters, Irene, Orangeville, Ont.; Joanne Colosino, Truro; brothers, Robert, Vernon, Sackville; Wesley, Amherst; sisters, Louise Babcock, Julia (Mrs. Bill Bulmer), Sackville; Mildred Lynn, British Columbia; Greta Worthing, Bridgewater, Lunenburg Co.; seven grandchildren; a great-grandchild. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today, funeral 2 p.m. Tuesday, both in Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville, N.B., Rev. Alyre Cormier officiating. Burial will follow in Four Corners Cemetery. Napoleon Joseph Legere, 72, of 64 Havelock Terrace, Amherst, died Thursday in Highland View Regional Hospital. Born in Cape Bauld, N.B., he was the son of the late Ambrose and Elizabeth (Brine) Legere. He was an employee of Robb Engineering Limited for 42 years before retiring in 1969, and was a member of the company's 25 year club. He was also a member of St. Charles Roman Catholic Church and the Golden Year Society. Surviving besides his wife, Irene Rhindress, are four daughters, Ona (Mrs. Harold Sears), and Helen (Mrs. Frank Cawlega), both of Port Credit, Ont.; Irene (Mrs. Joseph Mumford), Cheltenham, Ont.; Rita (Mrs. Lloyd Hoeg), Truro; two sons, Billy, Mississauga, Ont.; Donald, Aulac, N.B.; five step-daughters, Elizabeth (Mrs. James Watt), Arnprior, Ont.; Mary (Mrs. Harold Alexander), Cambridge, Ont.; Caroline Rhindress, Leona (Mrs. Allan Costin), and Cathy (Mrs. Roger Roberts), all of Amherst; three step-sons, Jimmie, Charlie and Terry, all of Amherst; two sisters, Mrs. Della Cormier, East Amherst; Irene, Beaverbank; 23 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 15 step-grandchildren. The body is at the Furlong's Funeral Home, Amherst. Funeral mass will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Charles Roman Catholic Church, Rev. Bernard Landry officiating. Committal will be in the Amherst cemetery receiving vault for spring burial in St. Charles cemetery.

Mrs. M. ALVINA LEGERE,
80, Joggins, widow of Ambroise Legere, died Sunday at Shediac Nursing Home. She had been a patient at the Nursing Home for the past four and one half years. She was born in Upper Aboujagane, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Sylvain Gauthier.She was a member of the St. Thomas Acquinas Roman Catholic Church. Her husband died in 1951. Surviving are three daughters, Neta (Mrs. Roy Murphy) and Julia (Mrs. Pearly Wheaton), both of Joggins and Mrs. Freda Whittle of Hamilton, Ont. Five sons, Dennis and Albert , Toronto. Ernest, Hamilton, Ont. Edgar, St. Catherines, Ont. and Philip of Joggins. Also 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. The body is at the home of her son, Philip Legere in Joggins. Funeral mass will be held from St. Thomas Acquinas Roman Catholic Church in Joggins Wednesday at 9.
