    GRANT, Albert Sterling -
    84, Rockingham, died August 25, 1996, in the Halifax Infirmary. Born in Port Greville, Cumberland Co., he was a son of the late J. Leonard and Maude (Welsh) Grant. He was retired from the Canadian National Railway where he worked as a locomotive engineer for 35 years. He was a life elder and member of Rockingham United Church. Surviving are his wife, the former Lottie Clements; son, Leonard, Rockingham; daughter, Joan (Mrs. Claude Hemeon), Dartmouth; sisters, Mrs. Agnes Burgess, Berwick; Mrs. Margaret Allen, Amherst; Shirley MacGillivary, Bible Hill; Lois (Mrs. Peter Legere), Ontario; brothers, Douglas, Shad Bay; James A., Halifax; Kenneth, Ontario; Gerald, Prince Edward Island; Carrol, Calgary, Alta.; two granddaughters; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Georgina Duffy, Alta Webster, Carmeta (Lehtonen) Sweet; brothers, Donald, Arthur, Joseph. Funeral 2 p.m. today in Rockingham United Church, Rev. Arlene Riches officiating. Reception to follow in church hall. Burial in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens. Donations to Rockingham United Church, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or any charity. Arrangements entrusted to Atlantic Funeral Home, Lower Sackville.
