Biographical information / Informations biographiques

Léonce had always been a successful entrepreneur. Having learned the value of a hard day's work from a young age by working alongside his father, Lionel and the family farm, he started out by buying and selling livestock. This quickly took him on a path of owning and operating several successful businesses including a service station, a tire shop, then onto the Big Burger Restaurant, Seaside Clothing and Seaside Supermarket/Gaudet & Son Supermarket. Recently, Gaudet Chalets & Motel, Gaudet Apartments and Gaudet Campground have been his passion. Léonce was also a successful contractor having built numerous houses and his businesses as well. Léonce's other passions have always been his love of Country and his firm belief that one should always be involved in the democratic process. Elections were his version of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. He thoroughly enjoyed the debate and controversy that always seemed to follow the campaign trail. He would always encourage everyone to get involved. He believed that it was our duty to vote, not just a right. He always knew how to enjoy life. He played racquetball, tennis and in later years, golf with friends. Always at best at home, he loved to entertain his friends and family. Over the past few years, he learned to relax and enjoy welcoming visitors to his home in Florida. He was a big part of this community and will be missed by many.2
