Biographical information / Informations biographiques

He grew up in Fitchburg, Mass. In 1965, after serving four years in the U.S. Air Force, he moved to Seattle, Wash. where he worked as a model builder at Boeing Air Craft. He moved to San Jose, Calif. in 1967 where he worked for IBM Field Engineering and Engineer Support. He married Sharon Weiland March 30, 1968, in Tacoma, Wash. While working at IBM he attended University of Santa Clara in San Jose. He earned degrees in Business, Anthropology, Sociology, Finance, Management, Art and other majors. He retired from IBM, in San Jose, as a senior advisory engineer scientist in 1992. He then acquired his certification in gunsmithing from Lassen College in Susanville, Calif. He and his wife moved to Brookings in 1995, where he opened Brookings Arms Makers LLC. The couple also owned Practical and Professional Property Management LLC in Brookings for six years. Mr. Leger's hobbies included reading, stained glass art, fishing, hunting and gourmet cooking. He was an avid and diverse collector and storyteller. He was a member of the Elks Lodge No. 1934 and the National Rifle Association.1
