    R. A. Legere Shediac, Dec. 26 -
A general feeling of sorrow pervaded the Seaside Town on the afternoon of this fretive day when it became known that one of its most highly esteemed and progressive citizens, Raymond A. Legere, had passed away suddenly at his home following an illness of but a few hours. Although his health had not been of the best for the past year or so, nevertheless he had shown remarkable recuperation from a very serious illness and was evidently well on the way to recovery when stricken with startling swiftness this forenoon and all that medical care could do for him proved unavailing, the end coming about 3.30 p.m. in the midst of his family and near relatives. the late Mr. Legere was a native of Shediac and celebrated his 51st birthday anniversary on Friday last, December 21st. He was a son of the late Dr. Joseph A. Leger and Rosaline Landry, of Dorchester, daughter of Amand Landry, the first Acadian elected to the New Brunswick Legislature. Mr. Leger's mother was a sister of Sir Pierre Landry once a member of the Hanington-Landry Government at Fredericton.
