    SAINT- ANTOINE, NB - Marie Leger, 95, wife of the late Alfred Leger of Foyer Saint-Antoine, formerly of Dieppe, passed away Sunday, January 1, 2006 at her residence. Born October 15, 1910 in Saint-Ignace, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Célina (Ouellette) Daigle. She is survived by a sister, Marguerite Richard of St-Hilaire, QC; three brothers, Joseph (Jeannine) of Dieppe, Lévi of Salem, NH, Camille (Rita) of Westminster, MA; many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, Alfred (1971); she was also predeceased by two sisters, Béatrice and Eugénie; and two brothers, Arthur and Gerald. Remains resting at Frenette Funeral Home, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900). Visiting hours Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday from 10 a.m. until time of departure (10:45). The Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 4, 2006 at Ste-Thérèse-de-l'Enfant-Jésus Roman Catholic Church, Dieppe. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe.     Leonie Landry -
    The death of Leonie Landry of Lower Cap Pele occurred at Dr. George Dumont Hospital on Saturday following a brief illness. She was 84. Born at Barachois, she was the daughter of the late Calixte and Henriette (Cormier) Leger, and the wife of Willie Landry. Besides her husband, she is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Meleme Babineau (Laura) of Toronto, Mrs. Bernard Dion (Augusta), Mrs. Ovila Croteau (Marguerite), Mrs. Albert Melanson (Doris) all of Fitchburg, Mass., Mrs. Yvon Ouellette (Violette Anne) of Moncton; four sons, Aldoria and Larry, both of Lower Cap Pele, Edward of Toronto, William of Fitchburg, Mass., one brother, Alfred of Shediac; 28 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. The body is resting at Frenette's Funeral Home, Shediac. Funeral service will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Cap Pele Roman Catholic Church, with interment in the Cap Pele Roman Catholic Cemetery.

He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 54 years, Simone (Bourque) LeBlanc; three daughters, Denise LeBlanc (Jean Hébert) of Grande-Digue, Lucette Vienneau (Michel) of Cap-Pelé, Anne Spina (Dominick) of New York; four grandchildren, Karine, Krystal, Nathalie and Jeremy, and by several nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by a brother Ambroise "Brose" (Berthe) LeBlanc, a half-brother Pacific "Fic" (Yvonne) Léger and a half-sister Mélindé (Aimée) Duguay.     Aimé J. D. Vautour

    AMHERST, N.-É. - À sa résidence, le jeudi 29 janvier 1998, à l’âge de 74 ans, est décédé au terme d’une courageuse lutte contre le cancer Aimé J. D. Vautour, époux de Madeleine Légère, domicilié à Amherst. Né à Cap-Pelé, N.-B., il était fils de feu Napoléon et de feu Léonie (Légère) Vautour.

    Outre son épouse, il laisse dans le deuil ses filles: Marina Garrison de Dartmouth, Linda Corbett d’Amherst, Annette MacKay (Evan) de Moncton, Theresa Parlee (Kevin) de Wilmot, et Michelle Barkhouse (Tyler) de Fall River; ses fils: Ronald (Inez) de Truro, et Jean d’Amherst; ses soeurs: Mélinda et Delvina Cormier, toutes deux de Cap-Pelé; son frère, Gérald de Cap-Pelé, ainsi que ses petits-enfants: Ronnie et Jackie, Jan et Jeff, Adam, Emily et Bart, Kevin et Daniel, Sarah et Mark, Jill et Erin, Isaac et Seth, et une arrière-petite-fille, Jessica.

    Deux soeurs: Aldéa et Basilise, ainsi qu’un frère, Henri, l’ont précédé dans la tombe.

    M. Vautour a travaillé pour le Département de l’Agriculture pendant 22 ans et pour le «Council of Maritime Premieres» pendant dix ans, jusqu’à sa retraite en 1983. Il était membre à vie des Chevaliers de Colomb. Durant la Deuxième Guerre mondiale, il a servi avec les Forces armées canadiennes royales, et était membre de la Légion royale canadienne, branche no 10 d’Amherst.

    Il n’y aura pas de visite au salon. Les funérailles auront lieu en l’église Saint-Charles d’Amherst, le samedi 31 janvier, à 11h. Le père John L. Hayes sera le célébrant. Une réception suivra à la salle paroissiale. L’inhumation se fera au cimetière Saint-Charles-Nativité d’Amherst, au printemps.

    Au lieu de fleurs, la famille apprécierait un don à la Société canadienne du cancer ou à une oeuvre de charité de votre choix, qui pourrait être fait à la Maison funéraire Furlong d’Amherst.
