    MacKENZIE, George Sinclair -
    77, 7 Boundary St., Dartmouth, died April 24, 1997, at home. Born in Eastern Passage, he was a son of the late Edward and Eliza (Mombourquette) MacKenzie. He was employed as a lab technician with Imperial Oil for over 37 years. He served in the Canadian Armed Forces overseas during the Second World War from 1941-1945 and was a life member of Royal Canadian Legion, Somme Branch 31. He was an avid softball player and sports enthusiast. Surviving are his wife, the former Helen Gibson; daughters, Wendy (Mrs. Dave Taylor), Dartmouth; JoAnn (Mrs. Greg Huxtable), Cole Harbour; Sherry (Mrs. Robert McVicar), Woodside; sons, Edward, Cole Harbour; Randy, Dartmouth; sisters, Helen (Mrs. Eli Legere), Viola Lively, Halifax; Alma (Mrs. Jack Brand), Surrey, B.C.; brother, Reginald, Woodside; eight grandchildren. He was predeceased by brothers, Chester, Douglas; sister, Loretta. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today, legion tribute service 7 p.m. today, both in A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home, Dartmouth. Funeral 2 p.m. Saturday in Imperoyal United Church, Woodside, Rev. Marion Innes officiating. Burial in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens. Donations to Canadian Cancer Society or Imperoyal United Church.

    Funeral for Mrs. M. J. Leger
    The funeral service for Mrs. J. Medard Leger was held at Notre Dame de Grace Church in Parkton on Saturday with solemn requiem high mass celebrated by Rev. Rodolph Godin, superior of the White Fathers mission, assisted by Rev. J. G. Pellerin and Rev. Fidele LeBlanc, pastor and curate of the parish church. Pallbearers were Raymond Leger, Michael Leger, Albert Melanson, Philip Lirette, Lionel Cormier and Eloi Gaudet. Numerous mass cards and other expressions of sumpathy were recieved by the family of the deceased. Attending the funeral from outside points were Alfred Bourque of Lynn, Mass., Mr. and Mrs. Celestin Leger, Denis Leger, Michael Leger, Miss Suzanne Leger, all of Caraquet; Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Leger of Bathurst and Rev. Oscar Bourque, pastor of Ste. Marie Kent, who recited final burial prayers at the graveside. Also many other relatives and friends from Shediac, Scoudouc and Lakeburn.

    Dies after Fall - Shediac (Special) -
    A 37 year old Shediac woman a resident of the Provincial House here, died Wednesday four hours after falling from a balcony 19 feet to the ground below. Shediac Town Police said Miss. Ulisa Arsenault died in the Dr. Georges Dumont Hospital in Moncton at 3 p.m. after the 11 a.m. fall. After the fall she was rushed to the Shediac Hospital and then transferred to Moncton. Town police say the woman was sitting on the balcony at the home and apparently lost her balance falling to the ground. The Shediac coroner ordered that an autopsy be performed but no decision was made on whether or not an inquest will be held. Born in Charterville, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Celestin Arsenault and attended St. Anselme Roman Catholic CHurch. She is survived by her parents; six sisters, Mrs. Fred Roy (Lena), Lewisville, Mrs. Gerald Boudreau (Yvonne), Miss Jeannette Arsenault, Mrs. Oscar LeBlanc (Aurore), all of Moncton, Mrs. George LeBlanc (Jackie), Chartersville, and Mrs. Val Leger (Colombe), Toronto; three brothers, Isidore, Charterville, Ernest, Lewisville, and Ronald, Lakeburn. The funeral service will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. from St. Anselme Roman Catholic Church. Interment will be in St. Anselme Roman Catholic Cemetery. The body is resting at Frenette's Funeral Home in Moncton.

    Michel Léger

    Le 27 septembre, à son domicile, est décédé à l'âge de 82 ans, M. Michel Léger, époux de feue Frances Strickland, domicilié à la résidence Mgr Doucet de Grande-Anse mais autrefois de Bertrand.

    Il laisse dans le deuil quatre frères: Elie de Halifax; Raymond de Bathurst; Célestin de Montréal et Charles Edouard de Bertrand; une soeur: Suzanne de la Villa Beauséjour de Carquet.

    La dépouille mortelle est présentement exposée au Salon funéraire de Bertrand d'où le convoi funèbre partira samedi à 15h50 pour se rendre en l'église St-Joachim de Bertrand où le service sera chanté à 16h00 et de là au cimetière de l'endroit.

    La direction des funérailles a été confiée à la Maison funéraire LeGresley de Grande-Anse.
