    Camille Leger

    Mr. Camille Leger, 82, of Villa Providense Home, Shediac, and formerly of Sherrard Avenue, Moncton, passed away Thursday, September 25, 1997 at the residence following a lengthy illness.

    Born in Scoudouc, April 18, 1915, he was the son of the late Dominique Leger and the late Zélica Gaudet.

    He was a retired Auto Body Repairman with Dryden Motors before retirement, a member of the Christ-Roi Golden Age Club, and was a veteran of WW 2, having served overseas.

    He is survived by his wife, Florence (Melanson) Leger of Moncton; a daughter, Bernice Arsenault (Gilles) of Lakeburn; two sons, Roger (Linda) of Lakeville, and Donald (Annette) of Moncton; four sisters, Corinne Leger, Yvonne McCaie (Aldéric), Albertine Thibodeau (Joseph) of Moncton, Edith Bourque (Oscar) of Shédiac; a brother, Lionel (Yolande) Leger of Montréal; four grandchildren, Natasha, Marco, Luc and Troy; and several nieces and nephews. Two sisters, Rita Bourque and Andréa Leger; and a brother Hervé predeceased nim.

    Remains resting at Frenette Funeral Home, 88 Church Street, Moncton with visiting hours on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m., Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until departure (10:15 a.m.). The Royal Canadian Legion, Moncton Branch No. 6, will hold a Legion service Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. from the funeral home. The funeral mass will be held Saturday, September 27, 1997 at 10:30 a.m. from Christ-Roi Roman Catholic Church, Moncton, with Father Yvon Arsenault officiating.

    Interment will be in our Lady of Calvary Roman Catholic Cemetery in Dieppe.

    SCOUDOUC - Mrs. Arzélie Marie Bourque, 89, of Résidence Bellcourt, Shediac and formerly of Scoudouc passed away at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton on Thursday, January 21, 1999.

    Born in Scoudouc, Septembre 12, 1909, she was the daughter of the late Théotime Léger and Carmelice Melanson. She was a member of St. jacques-le-Majeur Roman Catholic Church and the Golden Age Club in Scoudouc.

    She is survived by a daughter, Jacqueline Bourque of Shediac; three sons, Adrien (Pauline) of Scoudouc, Ronald and Normand of Shediac; three sisters, Emma Losier of Campbellton, Claira Landry of Moncton, Marie Himmins (Wilfred) of Hamilton, ON; a brother, Lucien Léger (Mai) of Dieppe; 11 grandchildren, Annette, Francine, Michel, Henri, Roland, Gérald, Linda, Huguette, Lise, Rhéal and Guy and eight great grandchildren, Mathieu, Mélanie, Serge, Jacques, Rachelle, James, Robert, Parise. She was predeceased by her husband, Alyre B. Bourque (1990); a son, Ovila; a grandson, Donald; a sister, Anna gaudet and two brothers, Antoine et Léandre Léger.

    Resting at Frenette Funeral Home Ltd., 396 Main St., Shediac (532-3297) with visiting hours on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Jacques-le-Majeur Roman Catholic Church, Scoudouc on Saturday, January 23, 1999 a 10 a.m. Interment in the Parish Cemetery in the spring.

    Elle laisse dans le deuil deux filles: Angéline (Michael Angerstein) de Oregan, É-U., et Ida (Édouard Cormier) de Saint-Bernardion, Californie, deux fils: Henri de Petit Chemin de Dover, et Arthur de Vancouver, C.-B., ainsi que sept peits-enfants et deux arrière-petits-enfants.

    Quatre soeurs: Philomène, Adeline, Agnès et Ida l'ont précédée dans la tombe.

    OLD TOWN - Francis "Conkie" Legere, 80, husband of Charlotte L. (Cox) Legere, died March 16, 2002, at a Bangor hospital, after a brief illness. He was born Dec. 3, 1921, in Old Town, a son of Alfred and Mary (Tardiffe) Legere. Conkie was a veteran, having served with the U.S. Army, during World War II. He retired in 1973, after serving 18 years for the Old Town Public Works. He enjoyed watching TV, listening to music, and playing his harmonica. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather, and an avid Red Sox fan. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte; a daughter, Fran Robertson and her husband, Harold Robertson III of LaGrange; two grandchildren, Lauren E. Crocker of LaGrange and Thomas J. Crocker of Milford; a brother, Leonard "Joe" Legere of Chemo Pond, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Laurence, Albert and Lionel; three sisters, Rose, Gladys and Celia. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday, at the Birmingham Funeral Home, 287 South Main St., Old Town.     Allain E. Dupuis WALTHAM, MA - Mr. Allain E. Dupuis of Grove Street, Waltham, MA passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2006 at Massachusetts General Hospital. He was 91. Born in College Bridge, NB, Canada, a son of the late Olivier and Exelda (Leger) Dupuis, he was a carpenter for over twenty five years for the Carpenters Local # 275. He was also very helpful in building the former Saint Joseph's Church in Waltham, MA and involved in many other activities at the church. He served in the Canadian Army - Regiment de Jolilette in Europe during World War II from 1942 to 1945. He is survived by his wife of sixty five years Louise M. (Legere) Dupuis; one son, Paul A. Dupuis and his wife, Dana of Stratham, NH; his granddaughter, Nicole Dupuis; and many nieces and nephews in both Canada and the US. Burial was at Grove Hill Cemetery, Waltham, MA.

    Camille Leger
    The death of Camille Legere, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albany Leger, of Sunny Brae, took place on Saturday morning at 3 o'clock, at the Moncton City Hospital, following an operation for appendicitis. Deceased, who was eighteen years of age, had been ill for the past five days only. He was born in Lynn, Mass., and came to Canada with his parents about 8 years ago, and had been residing at Sunny Brae. He had attended St. joseph;s College, and at the time of his demise was a student at the Moncton Business College. Besides his parents he leaves 3 brothers to mourn their loss, Sifroid, Leo and Antoine all living at home. Funeral announcement will be made later.

Doris Goguen of Moncton and Mrs. Gerard Breau (Benoite) of St. Anthony; three sons, Paul of St. Anthony; Normand of Notre Dame and Francis of Fox Creek; two sisters, Miss Elizabeth Goguen of Dieppe, and Mrs. Elvina Hatch of New York; two brothers, Fred of Dieppe and Leo of Grand Falls; a half-brother, David of Shediac, and by 16 grandchildren.     SCOUDOUC – Mrs. Alma Melanson, 92, of Scoudouc, died on Monday, January 24, 1994 at her residence after a lengthy illness.

    She was the daughter of the late Philippe and Mélendé (Léger) Melanson. She attended St. Jacques le Majeur Roman Catholic Church, Scoudouc. She was a member of Chapelet en Fraternité and the Scoudouc Golden Age Club.

    She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Alcide Thibodeau (Florine) of Robichaud, Miss Dorice Melanson of Scoudouc; one son, Yvon Melanson and his wife Bernadette of Scoudouc; one adopted son, Joseph Bourque and his wife Stella of Notre Dame; ten grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by her husband Blair Melanson, in 1972; seven brothers, Antoine, Alphonse, Honoré, Philias, Léandre, Camille, Clorice; and one sister Florine.

    Remains resting at Salon funéraire Frenette Ltée., Shediac with visiting hours Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at St. Jacques le Majeur Roman Catholic Church, Scoudouc, on Thursday, January 27, 1994 at 10 :30 a.m. Interment in the Scoudouc Parish Cemetery.

    COCAGNE - Edmond Melanson, 82, of Villa Cote d'Or and formerly of Cocagne, passed away on Monday, May 8, 1995, at Ste. Anne Hospital, Ste. Anne de Kent.

    Born July 27, 1912 in Cocagne, he was the son of the late Albert and Marie (Leger) Melanson. He was a retired Farmer and Fisherman. He attended St. Pierre Roman Catholic Church in Cocagne and was a member of the Golden Age Club, Cocagne.

    He is survived by his wife, Florine (Fougère) Melanson; four sisters, Irene (Jean Baptiste) Cormier of St. Thomas, Murielle LeBlanc of Moncton, Bernadette LeBlanc of Bouctouche, Albertine (Antoine) LeBlanc of Cormierville; three brothers, Irenée (Helene) of Cocagne, Gerard of Moncton, Arsene (Patricia) of Cocagne; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by four brothers, Emile, Alphée, Oscar, Lionel and one sister, Lina.

    Resting at St. Pierre Roman Catholic Church, Slumber Room, Cocagne, with visiting hours on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m.. Funeral mass will be held at St. Pierre Roman Catholic Church in Cocagne on Thursday, May 11, 1995 at 4 p.m.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Marie Mowrey.     Est décédé après une longue maladie, à l’Hôpital de Moncton, le mardi 24 mai, M. Raymond «Ray» Léger du 201, de la rue King, à Moncton. Il était âgé de 56 ans.

    Originaire de Moncton, il était le fils de feu Arthur et Jeanne Belliveau-Léger.

    Il était à sa retraite et avait fait parti de la force policière de Moncton durant 32 ans.

    Il était très connu dans la région et faisait parti des différents organismes et associations suivant: Opération-identification; Neighborhood Watch-Surveillance de quartiers; l’Association de parents Block; grammes de sécurité pour les jeunes; groupe pour l’Intervention de l’abus sexuel des enfants; Centr’aide ; l’Association canadienne pour la santé mentale; Carrefour pour femmes. Il a également été très actif au sein des Girls and Boys Club et du YMCA et du YWCA. Il fut le bénévole de l’année en 1982 et reçu le prix du Soliciteur général pour la prévention du crime. Il était aussi membre des Chevaliers de Colomb, Conseil 1310 (3e degré).

    Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse, Mme Bernice Boudreau-Léger; une fille, Mme Denise Léger, de Moncton; quatre fils: Michael, Pierre, Danny et Martin, tous quatre de Moncton; dix soeurs: Mme Albert Niles (Yvonne), Mme Hugh Green (Thérèsa), Mme Eric Manuel (Jacqueline), Mme Alphée St-Coeur (Annette), Géraldine et Catherine, toutes six de Moncton; Mme Eric Bastarache (Rita), de Sainte-Marie-de-Kent; Mme Gérald Melanson (Marie-Jeanne), de Memramcook; Mme Ton Lannagan (Pauline), de Dorchester, Antoinette, de Montréal; cinq frères: Antoine, Victor, Camille, tous trois de Moncton et Paul et Henri, tous deux de Montréal.

    Il laisse également plusieurs neveux et nièces.

    L’a précédé dans la tombe un frère, Pierre.

    La dépouille a été confiée à la maison funéraire Frenette de Moncton et les heures de visites seront de 19h-21h, mercredi ainsi que jeudi de 14h-16 et de 19h-21h. Les chevaliers de Colomb auront une service de pirères au salon funéraire Frenette de Moncton, le jeudi à 19h30. Les funéraires auront lieu le vendredi 27 mai, en l’église Saint-Bernard de Moncton à 11h. La famille appécierait des dons à la Société canadienne du cancer.

Paul LeBlanc ( Jeannie), Mrs. Dave Arseneault (Murielle), Mrs Gilbert Hache (Cecile), all of Moncton; Mrs. Charles Cormier (Bernice), Mr. Jean Bernard (Claudette); of Dieppe; five sons, Roland, Roger and Maurice, all of Moncton, Henri of Riverview and Normand of Dieppe; four sisters, Mrs. Henry Landry (Clara) of Moncton, Mrs. Arzelie Bourque of Shediac, Mrs. Wilfred Himmens (Marie) of Hamilton, Ont., Mrs. Emma Losier of Campbellton; one brother, Lucien of Scoudouc; 16 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
    He was predeceased by a sister, Anna Gaudet; and a brother Antoine.
    The body is at Frenette’s Funeral Home, Moncton. Funeral mass will be celebrated Monday at Notre Dame de Grace Church, Parkton at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe.

    Clara Landry 1916 - 2007 Clara Landry, 90, wife of the late Henry Landry, of Castle Manor, Moncton, passed away Thursday, April 5, 2007 at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital following a stroke. Born September 18, 1916 in Scoudouc, she was the daughter of the late Théotime and Carmelice (Melanson) Leger. She was the past-proprietor of Landry's Confectionery specializing in 'poutines rapées'. An avid card player, Clara also loved to play darts and was a volunteer for Foyer Inc., St-Vincent-de-Paul, Karing Kitchen, United Way, and the Cancer Society. She is survived by her sisters, Emma Losier of Campbellton, Marie Himmens of Hamilton, ON; her brothers-in-law; her sisters-in-law; many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she is also predeceased by her brothers and sisters, Anna Gaudet, Arzélie Bourque, Lucien, Antoine and Léandre.     The parish of Scoudouc was saddened by the death of Phillip M. Melanson, who died at the age of 62 on Saturday afternoon at 5 o'clock, at his home. Although the deceased had been ill throughout the summer his passing came as a shock to the community. He leaves to mourn, his wife (nee Melandie Leger), six sons, Philias, Alphonse, Leandre, Clorice and Anthone, at home, and Camil, in Minto. One Daughter (Alma) Mrs. Blair Melanson, of Scoudouc; one sister, Mrs. Theotime Leger, of Scoudouc, and one brother, Joseph Melanson, of Malakoff, also survive. The funeral service was held Monday morning from St. Jacques le Majeur church, with high mass by Rev. Father Joseph L'Archeveque. Interment was made in the parish cemetery. The pallbearers were Phillas, Alphonse, Leandre and Anthony Melanson, sons of the deceased, and Arcade and Alberty Melanson, nephews of the deceased. The large number present at the funeral service as well as the spiritual offerings attested to the high esteem in which the late Mr. Melanson was held.

    Outre son époux, elle laisse dans le deuil trois fils: Valmond (Rita), et Jean-Noël (Caroline), tous deux de Scoudouc, et Ulric (Antoinette) de Dieppe; trois soeurs: Léa Savoie (feu Léonard), Irène Jaillet (feu Adelin), et Roséline Maillet (Ulysse), toutes de Bouctouche; deux frères: Alcide (Anita) de Bouctouche, et Alban (Rita), de Moncton, ainsi que trois petits-enfants: Mario, Mathieu et Sophie et plusieurs neveux et nièces.
    Un fils, Ronald, ainsi que deux frères: Émile et Alderice, l’ont précédée dans la tombe.
    Avant sa retraite, Mme LeBlanc a travaillé à l’Atelier de Cap-Pelé.
    La dépouille mortelle est présentement exposée au salon funéraire Frenette, 396 rue Principale, à Shédiac (532-3297). Les funérailles auront lieu en l’église St-Jacques-le-Majeur de Scoudouc, ce lundi 14 juin, à 11h. Le célébrant sera le père Savio Mazerolle.     Il avait célébré son 50e anniversaire de mariage en août dernier. Il était membre du Club d’Âge d’Or de Saint-Antoine, ancien pompier, membre honoraire de la brigade pompier, membre de l’Association des pompiers et ancien conseiller du village.

    Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse : Mme Rita LeBlanc-Léger; quatre filles : Mme Gérard Maillet (Roseline), Mme Robert LeBlanc (Jeannine) et Mme Léonide Richard (Irma), toutes trois de Saint-Antoine; Mme Ernest Cormier (Francine), de Fredericton; un fils : Fernand, de Saint-Antoine; quatre soeurs : Mme Arthur Bourque (Honorine), Rosaireville; Mme Aimé Girouard (Emma), de Sainte-Marie; Mme Henri Babineau (Sophie), de Shediac cape; Mme Léo Haché (Stella), de Saint-Antoine; quatre frères : Alcide, de Edmundston; Alban, Laurie et Emile, tous trois de Saint-Antoine.

    Il laisse également huit-petits enfants.

    L’ont précédée dans la tombe deux frères : Aurèle, en 1987 (il y a six mois); Yvon, en 1950.

    La dépouille est exposée le mardi 15 décembre à la maison funéraire Maillet de Bouctouche et sera transférée le mercredi 16 décembre en la chapelle ardente de l’église Saint-Antoine. Les funérailles auront lieu le jeudi 17 décembre, à 10h, en l’église de Saint-Antoine; inhumation au cimetière paroissial en printemps.

He enjoyed tinkering with electronics, spending the winter months in Florida, boating and time at the family cottage in Parlee Beach. She is survived by four daughters, Lorraine Cormier (Elie) of Ayer, Mass, Murielle Cormier of Vaudreuil, Québec, Ella Perry (Ivan) of Athol, Mass., Rita Cormier (Norman) of Dieppe; two sons, Octave (Kathleen) of Lancaster, Mass, Gerard (Huberte) of Harvard, Mass.; three sisters, Eva Fregeau of Pawtucket, R.I., Sr. Anita Dollard s.s.a of Montreal, Rita Cassidy (Léance) of Shédiac; three brothers, Albert of Saugus, Mass., Abel of Avinger, Texas, Paul (Irène) of Marlboro, Mass.; 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; several nephews and nieces. Predeceased by three brothers, Antoine, Henri, Gerard. Resting at Notre-Dame du Mont Carmel Roman Catholic Church, SainteMarie de Kent with visiting hours on Tuesday, December 30 from 2 to 4 and 5:30 to 6:45 pm. The Funeral Service will be held at Notre-Dame du Mont Carmel Roman Catholic Church, SainteMarie de Kent on Tuesday, December 30, 2003 at 7 pm. Interment in the Parish Cemetery. Arrangements in care of Maillet Funeral Home, Bouctouche.
