Born in Barachois, he was a son of the late Edward and Dina (LeBlanc) Leger. He was employed with the Montreal school district. A veteran of the Second World War, he served in Canada. He is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Malcolm Norris (Margaret-Jean) and Mrs. Richard Folkins (Rebecca), both of Saint John, Mrs. Ed Howorko (Susan) and Mrs. Louise Martin, both of Alberta, and Mrs. Wade Freeze (Jennifer) of Sussex; four sons, Mitchell, Frankie and Joey, all of Saint John, and Paul of Edmonton; four sisters, Mrs. Edward Gallant (Catherine), Mrs. Norma Murray and Mrs. Joey Powers (Rita), all of Moncton, and Mrs. Ronald Robichaud (Claudette) of St. Antoine; two borthers, Arcade (Archie) and Raymond, both of Moncton; and several nieces and nephews. A brother, Hector, died previously. The body will be cremated. A memorial service will be held at Frenette's Funeral Home, Moncton, at a time and date to be announced. Born April 2, 1942 in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late Adolphe Arsenault and Minnie (Léger) Arsenault. Mrs. Landry was a Homemaker and a volunteer canvasser for the Canadian Cancer Society and the N.B. Heart and Stroke Foundation. She attended St. Thérèse d'Avila Roman Catholic Church, Cap-Pelé.
She is survived by her mother, Minnie (Léger) Arsenault of Cap-Pelé; three daughters, Rose Vienneau of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Dorine Harthng (Stephen) of Ottawa, Ont., Mona Landry (Santino) of Toronto, Ont.; one son, Jean (Louise) of Cap-Pelé; one brother, Paul Arsenault of Cap-Pelé; and six grandchildren, Luc, Nathalie, Rémi, Christine, Kyle and Joey. Besides her father and husband Henri, she was predeceased by one son, Daniel Landry.

BARACHOIS (Special) - Lionel Gaudet, 70, of Barachois died Saturday at Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton, after a lengthy illness.
Born in Barachois, he was a son of the late Eddie and Edith (Goguen) Gaudet, and had been employed with the provincial Department of Highways prior to retirement. He attended St. Henri du Barachois Roman Catholic Church, Barachois, and was a member of the Barachois Golden Age Club.
He is survived by his wife, the former Francoise Leger; four daughters, Mrs. Emerise Saulnier, Mrs. Edgar LeBlanc (Cecile), Mrs. Romeo Leger (Eveline) and Diana, all of Barachois; four sons, Blair, Leonce, Omer and Emery, all of Barachois; three sisters, Mrs. Franky Leger (Maria) of Cap-Pele,, Mrs. Aimee Bourque (Andrea) of Trois-Ruisseaux and Mrs. Lionel Bourque (Aline) of Shediac; a half-brother, Gerard Gaudet of Montreal; 10 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
The body is at Frenette's Funeral Home Shediac. He was a fisherman and was as a steel worker at Robb Engineering for many years. He had competed as a professional boxer, winning several matches throughout the Maritimes. He was a member of St. Charles Roman Catholic Church. He served with the Royal Canadian Army during the Second World War. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Amherst Branch 10, and the Amherst Branch of AA. Surviving are daughters, Diana (Mrs. Edward Herbert), Port Elgin, N.B.; Eleanor (Mrs. Paul Leger), Moncton, N.B.; Gladys, with whom he made his home; Irene, Stony Plain, Alta.; sons, Bernard, Wards Brook; Roy, East Amherst; Roger, Harbourville; Lloyd, Stony Plain; sisters, Emerise (Mrs. Peter LeBlanc), Elise LeBlanc, Moncton; Ada (Mrs. Anthony LeBlanc), Memramcook, N.B.; brother, Adalore, Victoria, B.C.; 26 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson. Né le 21 octobre 1923 à Scoudouc, il était fils de feu Clément Bourque et de feu Elmée LeBlanc. Born December 4, 1916 in Barachois, he was the son of the late Ambroise and the late Françoise (Cormier) Léger. Mr. Léger was a Veteran having served overseas between 1940 to 1945 with the N.B. Rangers. He was a Carpenter before retiring and atteded St. henri Roman Catholic Church, Barachois.
He is survived by his common-law wife, Anna Cormier; one sister, Albertine Léger of Riverview; one brother, Blair (Rita) of Barachois; and several niceces and nephews. h e was predeceased by three sisters, Dorothé, Emerise Trudeau and Françoise Gaudet; four brother, Frank, Théodore, Ambroise and Dismas.

Mrs. Mathias Landry, one of the oldest and most highly esteemed women in the parish of Shediac, died on Sunday afternoon at Dupuis Corner. For years Mrs. Landry had been nurse in the eastern section of Shediac parish and in the neighboring parish of Botsford, often aiding sick persons medically when no physician was available. She was long known as the "good angel of Dupuis Corner", where she was born 89 years ago. Surviving are her husband, aged 86, two sons, Phileas and Damien Landry, both of Dupuis Corner, and a daughter, Mrs. Hypolite Cormier, of Fitchburg, Mass. The late Mrs. Sylvain Leger was another daughter. The death of Mrs. Louise Bourque, wife of Harvey Bourque of Botsford Portage Westmorland County, occurred Sunday at Moncton Hospital following a long illness. She was 51. Born at Shemougue, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Eulalie (Muise) Brine. Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Robert Cullen (Lillian) of Hamilton, Ont.; one son, John Bourque of Cap Pele; three half-sisters. He retired from Swift Premium of Canada, attended La Visitation Roman Catholic Church, Grande-Digue, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus, 4th Degree 7535/Pascal Poirier, Grande-Digue/Member of Club d'Age d'Or, Grande-Digue. He liked to bowl at Cocagne Bowling Alley with seniors. Né à Haute-Aboujagane le 14 août 1914, il était fils de feu Jacob Drisdelle et de feu Élizabeth LeBlanc. SHEDIAC, NB - Jacob Drisdelle, 90, of the Villa Providence, Shediac, and formerly of Haute-Aboujagane, passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2004 at the Villa Providence. Born August 14, 1914 in HauteAboujagane, he was the son of the late Jacob and Elizabeth (LeBlanc) Drisdelle. Prior to his retirement, he was the founder and manager of la Caisse Populaire de Haute-Aboujagane and la Coopérative de Haute-Aboujagane. He served as secretary of the Barachois Regional School Council, District #13 from 1952 to 1969, and was past president of the former Handicapped Association in Shediac. He was a past member with la Fédération des Caisses Populaires Acadienne du N.-B. and the Golden Age Club in Barachois and Dieppe. SAINT-PAUL DE KENT, NB - Albert Arsenault, 90, of Villa Providence, Shediac, and formerly of Saint-Paul de Kent,, husband of the late Hélène Maillet (1988) and Albertine LeBlanc (1999) passed away after a lengthy illness at the Villa Providence, Monday, February 03, 2003. Born in Saint-Paul de Kent, on January 25, 1913. He was the son of the late Fabien Arsenault and Demerise Robichaud. Albert worked as a farmer as well as a carpenter. He was a 3rd degree Knights of Columbus in Cocagne. Albert will be sadly missed by three daughters, Jeannie Léger of Notre-Dame, Dorina Arsenault of Montréal, Gélina Beck (George) of Waltham, Mass; one son, Louis (Marguerite) of Moncton; one sister, Jeanne De Wolf of Dartmouth, NS; 11 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by four sisters, Exelda, Marie-Anne, Elise, Bella; three brothers, Gilbert, Léon and Willie. Visiting hours will be held from Notre-Dame du Sacré Coeur Roman Catholic Church Slumber Room, NotreDame de Kent on Wednesday, February 5, 2003 from 2-4 and 5:30-6:45 pm. Funeral service will be held at NotreDame du Sacré Coeur Roman Catholic Church, Notre-Dame de Kent on Wednesday, February 05, 2003 at 7:00pm. Internment will be in NotreDame du Mont Carmel Roman Catholic Cemetery, Saint-Marie de Kent.
