    Mrs. H. Legere Amherst (Special) -
    Mrs. Rosalie M. Legere, 12 Spring Street, Amherst, widow of Hypolite Legere, died at her home Friday following a lengthy illness. She was in her 93rd year, and was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Dominic Richard of Cormier Village, N.B. For the past 52 years she made her home in Amherst. She was a member of the St. Charles Roman Catholic church and of the Third Order of St. Francis. She was the last Surviving member of her family. Her husband died in 1938. Surviving are three daughters, Rita (Mrs. John Belliveau) of St. Paul, N.B., Juliet and Loretta, both at home; five sons, Rev. Gregorie Legere of Aroostook, N.B., Romeo of Lewisville, N.B., Alban of Hamilton, Ont., Leonel and Anthony, both of Amherst. 14 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. The body is resting at her home where parish rosary will be recited Sunday at 8:15 p.m. The funeral mass will be held from St. Charles Roman Catholic Church, Monday at 8:30 a.m. Burial will be in the family lot at St. Charles cemetery.

    Churchville, Pictou County - Mrs. Mathias (Mike) Legere, 86, of Churchville, died Friday in Aberdeen Hospital. Born in Abney, P.E.I., she was the former Hazel Lillian Giddings, a daughter of the late Joseph and Jennie (Richards) Giddings. She lived in Churchville for the past 37 years, and had previously lived in other parts of Pictou County. She was a member of Bridgeville United Church. Surviving are her husband, Mike, five daughters, Linda (Mrs. Henry Fraser), Upper Plymouth; Helen (Mrs. Donald MacInnis), Stellarton; Vinie (Mrs. Howard Butler), New Glasgow; Ellen (Mrs. Donald Murphy), Pictou Landing Road; and Sylvia (Mrs. Robert Hawboldt), Oromocto, N.B.; 20 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Bessie Eva, in infancy; and 11 brothers and sisters. The body is in H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Home, Stellarton. Funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Monday in Bridgeville United Church, Rev. Donald Crooks officiating, with burial in Bridgeville Cemetery. Donations may be made to the canadian Cancer Society or the VON.

    CHURCHVILLE - Mathias (Mike) Legere, 87, Churchville, Pictou County, died Friday in Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Little Cape, N.B., he was a son of the late Cyril and Adele (Richard) Legere. He lived in Pictou County most of his life and was a member of Bridgeville United Church. He was an active gardner and farmer, providing produce to many Pictou County residents for a number of years. During the Second World War, he served with the Pictou Highlanders. He is survived by five daughters, Linda (Mrs. Henry Fraser), Upper Plymouth; Helen (Mrs. Donald MacInnis), Stellarton, Vinie (Mrs. Howard Butler), New Glasgow; Ellen (Mrs Donald Murphy), Pictou Landing Road; Sylvia (Mrs. Robert Hawboldt), Oromocto, N.B.; two sisters, Mrs Rose Perry and Marie (Mrs. Leo Ouellette), both of Massachusetts; two brothers, Patrick and Clovis, both of Cape Pele, N.B.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.He was predeceased by his wife, Hazel; an infant daughter, Bessie Eva, several sisters and brothers. He was a Carpenter, retiring from Halifax Dockyard in 1970. He was a member of St. Catherine's Church, Halifax and Senior Citizens' Club, Sackville Street. He is survived by his wife, the former M. Viola Cormier; a son, Ewart, Halifax; five daughters, Berthina (Mrs. Bob Paul), Spryfield; Rosalie (Mrs. Joseph Legere-Taylor), White's lake, Halifax County; Benita Brake, Adelaide (Mrs. Gerald Lawrence), Alice (Mrs. Bill Legere-Hardstaff), all of Halifax; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; a step great-grandson. He was predeceased by an infant daughter, Lana, a son, J. Alvah; a brother, Edgar. The body is in Cruikshank's Halifax Funeral Home, visiting 2-4, 7-9 today and Sunday. Funeral will be 9 a.m. today in St. Catherine's Church, Halifax, Rev. March officiating. Burial will be 1 p.m. Monday in St Catherine's Parish Cemetery, Port Elgin.     LEGER - The death occurred on Monday, July 19, 1993 of Mr Edgar Leger at the age of 87 years. Mr Leger made his residence at Extendicare Kirkland. Born at Petit Cap, New Brunswick. Mr Leger was a long time Kirkland Lake resident who made his livelihood working in the bush. He is survived by his brothers Clovis and Patrick Leger both of New Brunswick. The late Mr Edgar Leger will rest at the Monette Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2 pm to 4 pm and from 7 pm to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held in the Monette Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, July 21, 1993 at 11 am with interment to follow in the Kirkland Lake Cemetery.

    R. Leger -
    Romeo Leger of 49 Mansfield Street, Moncton, was dead on arrival at Moncton Hospital Saturday. He was 71. Born in Cap Pele, he was a son of the late Hypolite and Rosalie (Richard) Leger. He retired from Humphrey Wollen Mills in 1970 after 40 years. He Attended St. Louis de France Roman Catholic Church in Lewisville. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Leonard J. Arsenault (Viola) amd Mrs. Roland Leger (Alice), both of Lewisville; three sisters, Mrs. Johnny Belliveau (Rita) of St. Paul, Juliette and Lorette Leger, both of Amherst, N.S.; four brothers, Rev. Gregoire Leger, Maliseet, Alban of Burlington, Ont., Lionel and Antoine, both of Amherst; three grandchildren. His wife, the former Mayme LeBlanc, died in 1970. The body is resting at Frenette's funeral home, 88 Church Street, Moncton. The funeral will be Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in St. Louis de France Roman Catholic Church, Lewisville. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery.
