    BURNS, Robert Frederick (Checker) -
    76, 29 Albion St., Amherst, died April 23, 1997, in Moncton City Hospital. Born in Amherst, he was a son of the late Walter and Catherine (Hughes) Burns. He was a veteran of the Second World War, and member of Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 10, Amherst. Following the war, he re-enlisted in the Armed Forces and was discharged in 1970. He was employed with Bendex Mobile Homes and later, with Enamel & Heating Co. He was a member of St. Charles Roman Catholic Church. Surviving are his wife, the former Theresa Legere; daughter, Irene (Mrs. Ed Chevarlie), Moncton, N.B.; sisters, Mrs. Kathleen Kent, Mrs. Hilda Fowler, Amherst; brother, Bill, Springhill Junction; a granddaughter. He was predeceased by sister, Irene Lutes; brothers, Jack, Harry. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m., parish prayers 3 p.m., legion service 7 p.m., all today in Furlong's Funeral Home, Amherst. Funeral 10 a.m. Friday in St. Charles Roman Catholic Church, Rev. J.B. Christensen officiating. Burial later in spring in St. Charles/Nativity of Our Lady Cemetery. Donations to Canadian Diabetes Association.

    Outre son époux, elle laisse dans le deuil trois filles: Yvette (Oscar Gaudet) de Fitchburg, Mass., Ginette (Roger Léger) de Moncton, et Mariette (Edmond Aucoin) de Lower Saskville, N.-É., cinq fils: Désiré, Valérie et Jean-Guy, tous de Moncton, Ulysse de Dartmouth, N.-É., et Donald de Fredericton, trois soeurs: Hélène Colette et Jeannita (Laurie Cormier), toutes deux de Bouctouche, et Aline (Laurie Melanson) de Moncton, six frères: Johnny, Michael et Ronald, tous de Bouctouche, Roger de Dieppe, Danny de Cocagne, et Emery de Moncton, ainsi que 17 petits-enfants, un arrière-petit-enfant et plusieurs neveux et nièces.

    Une soeur et un frère l'ont précédé dans la tombe, Edna et Camille.

    Ronald J Leger. - Amherst - The death of Ronald Joseph Leger of 7 Westminister Ave., Amherst, occurred at the Highland View Regional Hospital, Amherst Friday, Jan. 6 1989. He was 56. Born in Little Cape, N.B., he was a son of the late J. Remond and Lucy (Jacob) Leger. He was employed as a storekeeper at Robb Engineering Works for more than 30 Years. He was a member of St. Charles Roman Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his wife, the former Jean Mattattall; two daughters, Donna (Mrs. Garry Cossette) of Dartmouth; and Janice (Mrs. Derek MacKendrick) of Lower Sackville; three sisters: Theresa (Mrs. Robert Burns) Roberta (Mrs. Mark Corbett) and Rosella (Mrs. Gordon Edgett), all of Amherst; three brothers, Lorenzo and Henry, Moncton; Paul, Chelmsford, Mass.; two grandchildren. Funeral was held Monday in St. Charles Roman Catholic Church, Rev. David MacDonald officiating. Spring burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the neonatal unit of the Grace Maternity Hospital or the Izaak Walton Killam Children's Hospital, Halifax.

    Funeral Services for Shediac Lady - Shediac, N.B., Dec. 13 -
    The funeral of Mrs Sarah Landy took place from the home of her daughter, Mrs. Nap Leger to St. Joseph's Church, Shediac, where a requiem high mass was sung by Rev. Father Leger, C.S.C., Superior of St. Joseph's University with Father Bourgeois, deacon and Father Despres as Sub-Deacon. Interment was made in the family lot at Memramcook. The pallbearers were the grandchildren, Messrs. Raymond, Jean-Paul and Rene LeBlanc, Maurice and Norbert Leger and Harold Prince. Out of town people attending were Mrs. Stan Hilchey, Mrs. Garnet Hilchey also the Misses Fern and Nathalie Hilchey, all of Old Town, Me.; Mr. Alyre Gaudet, Mr. Albenie Richard, Mr. Leo Landry, Mr. and Mrs. E. T. LeBlanc, Mr.Philippe Cormier, Mrs. Alphonse LeBlanc, Miss. Jacqueline LeBlanc all of Moncton; Mr. Andre Cormier, Miss Deline LeBlanc of College Bridge, Mrs. Ernest LeBlanc, Fox Creek. Many mass cards, messages of sympathy, sympathy cards and floral tributes were received.

    Paul-Emile Fougère, 81, of Elmwood Drive, Moncton, passed away suddenly at the Moncton City Hospital on September 21, 2006. Born in Dupuis Corner, NB on July 10, 1925 he was the son of the late Alphé Fougère and the late Alice Fougère. He was a retired carpenter and he attended Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix Roman Catholic Church, Murphy Avenue. Paul-Emile is survived by one daughter, Gisèle Fougère (Randy) of Moncton; three sons, Thomas Fougère (Lisa) of Shediac, Danny Fougère of Trois Ruisseaux and Camille Fougère of Moncton; two sisters, Regina Ouellette (late Alvérie) and Lorraine Léger (late Rudolphe) both of Cap-Pelé; one sister-in-law, Enna Fougère (late Gérard) of Fitchburg, Mass; two grandchildren, Cecelie and Olivia; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three sons, Jerry, Ronald and Joseph; one brother, Gérard; his first wife, Amanda Poirier and second wife, Eva Meyers. Resting at Coopérative Funéraire Passage Funeral Co-operative, Shediac Bridge with visitation on Sunday, September 24 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. There will be no visitation on Monday. The Funeral Service will be held at Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix Roman Catholic Church, Murphy Ave. Moncton on Monday, September 25, 2006 at 10am. Interment will take place in St-Thimothé Parish Cemetery, Shemogue. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Cancer Society or donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
